Customer Reviews

Could not use. Not compatible with ADT! :-(Could not use. Not compatible with ADT! :-( 1Excellent product, worked great for what I needed them for.Had new windows installed, old hardwired contact wires were so brittle that I couldn't use them. Instead of running a new wire, I just purchased these and now my windows are protected. Great product, came well packaged and they were easy to install and worked great out of the box. 5Works great! This is the same device. 5Very slim and work great!Installation was pretty easy. I followed the tips from some of the other reviews (noting the number at the back BEFORE you stick on the tape). Also best to program these BEFORE you put them on the window. These are very slim and easy to install. I did it myself and worked great. The one thing I did have to do after a few days was to set the polling interval to be pretty high to 24 hours (from the default). Otherwise, I was getting false alerts (no response) with the units intermittently. 5Do Your Research First on What You Need & How to Install--Choose Wisely, and This One Works Very Well!Excellent. My original pro install of same sensor was defective, so I ordered this replacement, which is perfect and crazy easy to install as a replacement wireless sensor. I'll explain. When my first (but defective) DSC wireless sensor was installed in April 2016, the Tech did not spot the defect although he experienced for 30+ minutes the trouble installing and enrolling (programming to my system, which he also had installed). I did not realize the defect either at first and for many months. Then 6-12 months after install my sensor randomly would stop reacting to open and close (silent with chime on) and/or show as OPEN on the Keypad, which is what pro installer experienced at install. I recall he had great difficulty getting the wired door contact connected to the wireless transmitter. The false alarming began about 18 months after install--within the last 4 weeks. I checked the battery and it was 3.09v, barely over required but over the required. Replaced the battery or tried, and discovered the circuit board was not cut correctly. Not enough clearance for the battery and battery contact clips. Very hard to force the (yes, the correct, recommended) C2 Panasonic batt in the batt space. Pressed HARD against both top and bottom of circuit board and apparently from original install had bent the batt clip out of shape interfering with the wired reed switch connect screw-in terminal. Gently tried to reposition the batt clips. Still no joy--wires not seated and battery clip interfered with wired contact connections. Battery had already damaged batt clips because circuit board would not allow correct fit for correct battery. Ultimately batt clip broke. Soldered back, but still had to slide in (force) battery clip edge to make connection. Clearly not going to work longterm. So, I ordered this replacement, hoping to confirm my thought that original install unit was defective (it was). Spent part of 2 days researching how to install new wireless switch just to replace defective one (replacement only, not as new). Finally found several website instructions on how simple just a replacement of DSC wireless sensor for another (same) DSC wireless sensor can be (if you have the installer code--I did, luckily). Easy peasy. After about 2 days of research, ordering this switch, removing the defective one and installing the new one, and programming the new one (enrolling it to my system) took less than about 2 minutes. Working great and I expect no problems now. The new one had appropriate "footprint" spacing on board for the battery, the battery terminal contacts were appropriately (differently) placed than my originally installed defective one, and seems tight and proper.I've only just installed it a few hours ago, though, and will commit to update this review if this one begins failing in a way that seems likely related to its as-sold condition. Not expecting that, though, at all, given the visible distinctions between my original defective sensor and this one that seems very properly manufactured.I recommend searching for instructions and/or videos of how to install and enroll (program) this sensor to your particular DSC system (both the installed system motherboard and the wireless receiver--you must have both, of course--and the keypad, too). If you do your research well (takes a while for non-pro's), you will have a very simple & fast install. Good luck! 4Works with ADT (dsc impassa) systemSo I wanted to add some window sensors to my house, but to have an installer come out and do it they would charge $175 / window for this! I was able to add this my self in a matter of minutes, just a precaution. Make sure you login to your security provider and put your alarm in test mode. Because as soon as you put your alarm into installer mode (*8) it will trip a silent alarm. And next thing you know you will have a few cop cars at your house. I learned this the hard way. Note you need the installer code for the alarm system to add these. 5Works perfectly. It works great. I did some research online for installation tips. Programming my system did take a bit of time since I had not done any programming since 2012 when I did the initial installation. Once programmed I performed the tests before mounting as outlined in the instructions packed with the sensor. Mounted with supplied adhesive pads at the moment, but I intend to use the supplied screws in the near future. 5Works fine. I have mine mounted in my mailbox for ...Works fine. I have mine mounted in my mailbox for use as a mail delivery sensor. I made a cutout in the metal mailbox and covered the hole with a plastic electrical box cover, so the RF signal had a path out of the box. This TX is mounted inside the mailbox on the back of the plastic cover. My mailbox is over 250 feet away from the receiver. A recent install, but so far it is working even in this Minnesota winter.I have this is set-up as zone type 26, and I use a NC switch on the mailbox door. 5Works great and reliableI have 20 of them, some are 18 years old and still work fine. This new model is made with better quality plastic and is more compact. Great product. 5Dead batteryUnit worked for about 2 hours before the battery voltage dropped enough that the unit did not work. Must have been old stock where the battery shelf life expired. Price was very good but with the added cost of a new battery, not so good. 2
