Customer Reviews

At first, didn't work...but Out of the box, or rather the sealed plastic bag, the case is far too snug for the iPad Air (10"). I had to jam it in inch by inch, and removing it is a major challenge, even when it is not completely inserted. It was so tight I actually checked my order to make sure I had ordered the right size for iPad Air. Yup, I did. That said, I will give it a week or so to loosen up, but If it remains this difficult to insert and extract, it will be returned or heading for the recycle bin.EDITED: Immediately after I posted the above comments with a 2-star review, I received an email from the seller stating that there was indeed a bad batch of sleeves that were too small. They thought they had found them all but apparently mine slipped through. They informed me that I didn't need to return the one I had, that another one with a proper fit was being sent to me. Sure enough, in a few days, I received the new one which fits perfectly. This is how businesses ought to respond and very much appreciated. Accidents happen, but they should be handled in this way. Kudos to the seller! The sleeve is perfect -- thin, light, attractive, and provides good protection against scratches and minor falls.PS: Months later, I ordered a second one -- arrived quickly and works like a charm. 5 star review doubled! Good product, great customer service. 5Does what it's supposed to do I bought the one designated for iPad Air 2: it fits tight enought to hold the tablet without falling out easily, and loose enough so I can easily take it in or out. It's brown, a dark brown that almost looks black. After a few weeks of daily in and out use, it does a more than adequate job and seems durable.I notice some reviewers and questions of people who complain that it was too tight with other covers attached. Such complaints should be ignored because they are idiots. This product is just a sleeve, a thick, leather-like envelope, to protect your light-weight product from getting scratched, dirty and messed up when not in use. My briefcases, shoulder bags, backbacks, padfolios and other carriers all have padded areas for tablets or laptops. But in those cases, or laying it down around the home or office, you might not want the tablet exposed to loose pens, coins, or other things that might scratch the screen or surface. For myself, placing my tablet in a heavy cover of any kind would defeat the entire concept of a product known as an IPad "AIR." I want to minimize weight. If you have a cover of any kind mounted on your IPad, you don't need a sleeve.A couple years ago I bought a nearly identical product from Kyasi for my iPad Air. I now needed a new one for my new Air 2 while I will give the old tablet and cover to a relative. I liked the Kyasi as much as I like this one. But for reasons unknown, the Kyasi jumped from $9.99 to over $25 when I wanted a new one, though I see today that has come down to just under $14 as of today. The Dockem is pretty much the same product at a slightly lower price. Kyasi TouchHide Tote Case Cover with Premium Synthetic Leather for Apple iPad Air, Saddleback Brown 5I bought Dockem case for all my phones and tablet and usually their quality in very good. But not this one This is the first time Dockem disappointing me! I bought Dockem case for all my phones and tablet and usually their quality in very good. But not this one. The case of course fit like gloves and very light, but the one I received has a long cut in the back side!! It's like a cut by a knife of scissor. More than 2 cm! The cut is deep and almost goes through inner side. Maybe I got a defective case but they should put more care in quality control. I can't return it because I'm now in working in Oman.Update : Dockem sent free replacement and this time the quality is great without any flaw. I always love Dockem product and with the great customer service I will love them more. Thanks 5Great protection I bought this sleeve as a light weight and non-bulky protective cover for my iPad mini 5. I have a soft carrying case that I can use when traveling to do the same thing, but it is rather large for the iPad mini 5 and too much trouble to use when just around the house. I thought this sleeve might be better and easier to use when not traveling. It has what feels like a felt interior and I assume the outside is plastic, although it looks a bit like leather. The Mini slides into and out of the sleeve easily and the fit is perfect. The only negative thing I can find to mention is that the cutout to allow getting a grip on the iPad mini 5 is right where the Home button is and so I need to put the Mini in with the top facing out or I turn the Mini on when I remove it from the sleeve, and that is a very small issue. This is a great sleeve and I am very happy with it so far. It is new so I do not yet have any feel for how long it will last, but the stitching feels solid and the sleeve does not feel cheap. I am happy with the purchase. 5OK for situations where you don't need lots of protection For my purposes this is a three star product. For most people this is a four star product so that's what I'm giving it.The main reason for the first star deduction is that there is a notch at the top of the case where the opening is. When you put the tablet in the edge of the tablet is exposed where this notch is. So your tablet is not 100% protected. Depending on how you transport your tablet this may be important or it may make no difference. For me this is a problem.I would deduct a second star because the tablet is not held securely enough inside the pouch. It is OK for casual use but for any situation where the case might be jostled around there is a very real possibility that the tablet will fall out. For example, if you are just going to throw the case into a briefcase where it is free to slosh around inside, the tablet is probably going to fall out. But if you put this in your laptop case where it can't more around very much, then your tablet should stay in. Again, for me this is a problem. So in the end this probably deserves 3.5 stars but I'm rounding up because I think for most people this will serve their needs pretty well. The above applies to the 2013 version of the Nexus 7 and applies to any other tablet with similar dimensions. 4Sizing issue - too big for the Air2 I feel like I'm missing something - I got the full sized sleeve for my iPad Air2 WITH the smart cover, and this case is way too big. With the iPad inside, there's at least an extra 1/2" left on the side. You can see from my picture how big the case is compared to the Air2. It makes the iPad a lot bigger and actually no longer fits in the outside pocket of my bag. So much so that when the iPad is in there the whole thing stays kind of bowed open. It's too bad - I know everyone else seems to love it, but I have a Dockem sleeve for my Kindle which fits much more snugly. I am tempted to try the smaller sleeve, but I want to keep the smart cover on and use this for additional travel protection - it would be nice if there was an in-between size.. 3Works great for a great price After considering several much more expensive carriers for my iPad, I opted for this product, partly because of the good reviews it was getting, and partly because I figured I didn't have too much to lose with the low cost. After 2 months of dragging my iPad everywhere in it, I am very pleased with the quality and durability of the product. Even though it is not real leather, it feels like a real leather product when you carry it. It is quite lightweight, and it does not add significant bulk to the iPad when you are carrying it. Also, because it is not bulky, it doesn't get in the way -- I use my iPad for note-taking at all my meetings, and most of the time I just set my iPad on top of the sleeve on top of the table.I did have to make one adjustment: I do have the magnetic Smart Cover to help protect my iPad's surface and to serve as a kickstand when I'm reading. As one of the product pictures indicates, even with the Smart Cover, the iPad will still fit snugly in the Dockem sleeve. The sleeve puts enough pressure on the edge of the cover, however, that it slightly buckles the cover up from the surface of the iPad. (It's not damaging the cover, just making the Smart Cover pop up ever so lightly along its natural hinges.) In my experience, this displaced the Smart Cover just enough to trigger the "wake from sleep" setting that will automatically turn the iPad on and off when you open and close the magnetic cover. I had to disable that setting to prevent my iPad from turning on its display every time the sleeve was jiggled or moved. So the sleeve works great even if you have a Smart Cover; just be careful of the "wake from sleep" setting. 5Great Case!! Edit: Still nice, but loose now. Well made case that fits my iPad Air 2 perfectly. As a matter of fact, it may be a bit too snug, and that's what concerns me. I wonder if the finish on my beloved iPad will eventually wear off with repeated use of this case. But like I said, it's an excellent fitting case that looks just like premium leather. I just wonder about the long-term effects on my iPad's finish. Guess we're going to find out.UPDATE: October 5, 2017Well, after owning this case for about five months now, it has become very loose to the point where my iPad falls out. Of course, if you hold the case with the opening facing up, then you'll have no problems. But who does that? Most folks tend to grab the case and go. My iPad has fallen out twice now, and that's two times too many for me, so in the drawer this case goes, never to be used again. Going back to a traditional zipper case. 3Go Large I recently purchased a new iPad Air and the Logitech Ultrathin Bluetooth Keyboard cover (best iPad accessory ever). I wanted an executive looking cover but after reading reviews was very concerned that the iPad Air version would not fit. I took a chance and ordered the larger iPad 2/3 version of this sleeve and couldn't be more pleased. There is no way the iPad Air and keyboard would have fit in the Air version, but the larger sleeve is the perfect solution for this thicker combination. I wanted to post this solution since it was not addressed in any of the reviews I could find. 5Nice, smooth slip case for 2013 Nexus 7 Short review:-The case outer material is smooth, slides easily in and out of a pocket.-The inside looks like suede, doesn't seem to be able to scratch the tablet.-The suede material smells like faintly like suede, not plastic.-2013 Nexus 7 slides in an extra 1/4 inch, doesn't stick out of the sleeve.-Tablet slips easily inside, easy to pull out. If you compress the sides you can get it to slide out if held upside down and gently shaken.Long review:For two years I have been using a B&N NOOK Tablet. I rooted it the day I got it and got a version of vanilla Android on it a week later. The dev community managed to get tools out there so I could get CyanogenMod CM 10.2 (Jellybean 4.3) on it and it performs well in most cases.Four things drove me nuts with it. One, it occasionally won't power up right, needing to be soft-rebooted to power up properly. For this reason I won't sell it to a friend. Two, another bug, is that either a recent update to CM,or just because the thing is a pain in the butt to hack, but the touchscreen seems to register the wrong part of the screen about 1/10th of the time. Three, it doesn't support USB OTG, though the removable 32gb microSD card I have in it helps with storage of movies and large games. (I never did get the 16gb internal memory to be user accessible, only had a gig of user memory available without the card)Finally, the case I have for the Nook is a TPU rubbery case that wraps around and covers everything but the screen. While it protects it from bumps, it is a pain to put in and out of a coat pocket because it's rubbery. (I avoid those kinds of cases for my phones as well, and put the tablet in a Ziplok bag so it would slip in my jacket pocket for a time before giving up on using it while walking around. So, I got a Nexus 7 a few weeks ago. It's much thinner than the Nook, has Bluetooth, GPS and USB OTG support, all that thet has held up pretty well, but Before I recently bought my Nexus 7 (2nd gen 2013 model) I was using a B&N NOOK Tablet. Though the NOOK had served it's time well, (especially after I finally got Cyanogen 10.1 running on it). I wanted a tablet that was a little slimmer, was easy to hack if I needed extra features, and had the ability to add devices with an OTG cable. The Nexus Root Toolkit took care of unlocking it for OTG access, and it does everything else I need. I just worried about the large screen getting damaged.I wanted a slip cover instead of a flip and fold stand case since I wanted it to be as thin as possible to carry in my jacket or back pocket. This seemed to do the trick, considering it looked like it had a smooth leather finish. It arrived in a plastic bag, which was nicer than most plastic bags, but wasn't a cardboard box. The packaging seems specially made for mail order shipping. After tearing it open, I looked at the case. It's nice. It is a very dark brown leather (it seems to be leather) with fine stitching around the three sides. The inside looks like suede, feels like suede, and smells a little like leather. The case is stiff enough to give protection against reasonable impacts, but flexible enough that the case itself is not going to hurt the tablet.I worried a little that the case is a bit larger than it needs to be for the tablet. I would like it if it was about 1.4 inch narrower, so the tablet was held in there more snugly. As it is, the tablet goes into the case about 1/4" extra, but can be slightly wiggled from side to side when it's in there. If I hold the case with the open-end downwards, and squeeze the case at the sides where the stitching is, the tablet will slide out. However, for putting it into a pocket, it is great. It won't fit into the back pocket of the slacks I'm wearing, but will fit in the front pocket. (I'm not going to sit with it in there) It also fits in the my jacket pockets, with the smooth leather exterior allowing it to slip in and out fairly easily. For initial impressions it gets 5 stars. I have to be sure not to hold it upside down and squeeze the sides or it will slip out, but otherwise it is a good looking, decent protecting slim slip case. 5
