Customer Reviews

What a pile of crap Delta has become. I rarely write negative reviews, I wouldn't write a bad review due to poor packaging, or obvious manufacturing error, so when I say this seat is hot garbage, Just know that I am talking about the actual design of this product, as it is meant to be in perfect working order.I bought the elongated seat, for my elongated toilet, after installing it, and lining up the seat to the front of the seat, there is about a half inch gap between the back of the seat, and the back of the toilet bowl. and after sitting in it, I truly feel like the whole is not bigger, IF NOT SMALLER than a regular shaped toilet seat. Then, I put the batteries in the seat so that it will light up, turns out the light never turns off, it is perpetually on, not light sensor, no motion sensor, or light trigger at all, there is just light leaking out of the thing, always. Imagine if your refrigerator left its light on. This is not hard technology, I am not asking for a touch pad.Bottom line this thing is garbage, and I am tired of Delta charging luxury prices for cheap, Chinese knockoff quality. 1Completely UNSLIPPABLE!! Have you ever sat on a toilet seat and it slips sideways and scares you to death?? This toilet seat has non-slip bumper guards. And it comes with rubberlike seals that are used in the area where the seat is screwed onto the toilet. (See pictures)Delta really ought to stress how NON-SLIP this seat is! 5Good seat and Quick Release - "Night" Light Lights up your Poop not "Your Way" I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this Chinese-made crap. Positive: Sturdy, Esy Assembly, Quick Release convenient for cleaning. Negative: The box states Night Light "Lights Your Way." It doesn't AT ALL. The night light shines exclusively into the bowl. It lights up your bowel movement. Period. There is no ambient night light to the room which makes this "night light" worthless, --NOT WORTH THE EXTRA EXPENSE for a similar unlighted toilet. My former one had a nioghtlight which illuminated softly the bathroom. No this one. A waste of 4 AA batteries to work this thing. 3Push down on the top ,to make it stay up for the guys. Well worth the extra money. We bought a new elongated bowl. Didn't like the seat that came with it. We loved the bowl tho. So we got this seat with night LEDs and hoped that it would fit and the color matched the new bowl. White elongated was what we had gotten. It has a cool way to mount the seat to the bowl. It has a very easy fast release too. I think the quick release and my back tank, make it hard for the seat to stay up. I found if you push the top of the seat when it's in the upright position, push it down with your finger once kind of hard. This works for me and our bowl and tank set up.The rubber stoppers under the seat help out a lot. The battery slide is easy to operate. When you install the 4 aa battery's it turns the LED on. It stays on for nine hrs then turns off of fifteen hrs. Then repeats over and over. pull the battery to reset the timer. The seat is very comfortable for a plastic one. I like wood one but they don't make one with LED in it.This one works just fine. Looks great too. 5Throw your old seat away. The fam made fun of me when they first saw the LED lights in the bowl....now they realize just how ahead of the curve I am. LOLThe wife no longer stumbles around in the middle of the night for her nocturnal number 1's.The only thing I dont like is that it takes awhile to engage the slow-close part of the hinge. For example, if you lift the seat about 2 inches or so it will fall like a normal, loud toilet lid. After about 2 inches or so you can feel the slow-close buffer kick in. It still works perfectly. But while opening the lid before it's slipped off of my fingertips a few inches up and slammed back down. 5The new technology in toilet seat installation is really cool! Why didn't they think of that sooner The hardest part about installing this toilet seat is getting the old one off! The new technology in toilet seat installation is really cool! Why didn't they think of that sooner! I am very please with the quality, installation and "feel" of this toilet seat! It looks good too and the built in night light is great! I am very pleased with this purchase! 5Disappointing Disappointing. I purchased for the soft-close (having another brand in a second bath that works fine). The "nightlight" was purchased on a whim. So, two issues. First the least problematic: The light just kept blinking bright and dim and was more annoying than a help. It also wasn't bright enough for my liking. We had another nightlight plugged in and you couldn't see this one at all unless you opened it.Now the second issue, which was the reason I returned it. It has plastic parts with a type of expansion bolt to hold the lid in place. Those plastic bolts pulled out the third time the seat was used (no, we are not overweight). The seat just slid sideways and one side pulled out. I had tightened it as tight as I felt necessary when installing, given the plastic parts but the expansion didn't keep the seat from pulling out.It was a quick installation and would have been easy to clean around had it stayed in place but it didn't work for us (with a brand new, Church toilet). 2Good quality fits well looks nice This is a very nice toilet seat and easy to install (I have yet to find one that isn't easy as long as the old one comes out without a fight). I purchased a different brand for our other bathroom and I they are both very well made and comfortable. This one has a small amount of shifting around the hinges but nothing to worry about. It does not slide around or bow when you sit on it and the soft close feature works great. The only reason I gave it four stars is it is a traditional screw on installation without a quick release for easy cleaning, which I prefer. It is my fault that I missed that point in the description but I honestly don't know why they aren't all made this way in 2017. 4Lid stays up but seat immediately falls, poor fasteners/Instr Nice idea, and we have bought a number of slow close seats from various manufacturers. Unfortunately, our Delta experiences have now resulted in our last. The installation is very easy. Compared to other products though, I have a few gripes:- A product sheet is included, but no installation instructions. Admittedly I did notice there are installation pictures on the outside back of the packaging. I'm frustrated though because I look inside for instructions and see a "product sheet" listing 12 model numbers and a parts diagram where the 12 model numbers are listed yet the parts diagram doesn't list part numbers, and no explanation for what to do with two clear, flat, rubber pieces. WHY NOT KEEP THIS SIMPLE and have the correct model and part diagram for what I bought, with pertinent instructions on the same page?- I'm smart (LoL not observant apparently since I missed the instructions on the box exterior), so I quickly determined how to use the clear rubber parts. They attach between the seat and toilet to prevent the seat from slipping left/right on the toilet. This is a nice feature since a number of toilet seats slip bo matter how much I tighten them.- However, the nut and boldt used are inferior to other products. The underside of the toilet where the nut/bolts attach is convex. I very much like the new plastic nut/bolt system where the nuts are concave because they attach very securely inside the toilet convex opening. The supplied nuts are flat which means they do not seat securely in this area.- Likewise, the head of the bolts require a standard screwdriver. The depth of the area where the screwdriver is deep enough for installing but this bolt is made of plastic and the depth is not very deep. Historically this means you are more likely to strip the head when attempting to unscrew this on a later date. I much prefer the deep philips slots on the bolts provided by other manufactures.- After installation I tested the product. The lid stays up without issue but the seat immediately falls to the halfway point, then slowly closes :( I then opened both lid and seat at the same time, with the same result. Admittedly I did determine it was possible to raise the seat, hold it in place for a few seconds, and have it stay up. However, especially since I dont have thos issue with my White Cloud nor Mayfair slow close seats, nor any other toilet seat I've purchased in the last 30 years, I find this unacceptable. The seat itself has an attractive appearance and i very much like the reinforced bottom edging/railings for the seat. It appears to he a far sturdier plastic seat than thers I have inspected previously. As for those two clear rubber pieces, they definitely prevent the toilet seat from shifting left/right - except the seat and lid are loose enough with the section bolted to the toilet that they still can be jiggled left/right. Really? I know this is being nit-picky but COME ON how difficult is it to make parts/connections which are not loose? I checked my Mayfair slow close, and re-instslled my old seat, and neither of these have this issue.BTW I am replacing the old seat because the metal screws connecting the anchors to the toilet seat have been rusting, and it's not a slow close. On the plus side, I called Delta rather than return the toilet seat to Amazon and Delta is shipping a new seat (thanks). If it has the same issue though, we will return this and buy non-Delta. This is probably our last delta purchase. I recently bought a Delta Classic 400 tub with enclosure, as well as shower pan with enclosure, a long with a Moen and Delta fixture for the tub and shower. No issues installing the Moen, numerous issues with Delta. Way too many issues installing the Delta Classic 400 products. Should be very simple but those products aren't designed for sturdy, non flexing needs required in the bathroom. 2Great idea but slight design flaw Works as advertised and a great value as these seats are typically $40 or more in box stores. The issue I had was the lid is a little thick so it hits the tank lid and won't stay open. I tried it on another toilet and it works, barely. Maybe it's just the toilets I have but seems odd that this seat doesn't stay fully open. 3
