Customer Reviews

Easy to install I suggest to cut the wall to install a 'single gang low voltage old work bracket'. Then bolt the cable plate to that. The pass-through opening is plenty large enough to allow medium duty grounded extension cord plugs and the power cord connector part that plugs to the back of your TV or Computer monitor. Though I did not try it, I think an 15-pin VGA connect would slide through easily. The Ivory color blends nicely with beige walls. 5Fits More Than You'd Think - Need Old Work Box I am in the middle of building a Theater Room and needed a wall plate to run all my of wires through. Although, I must confess, I was really worried about how much would fit in it. Let me tell you, I have run a CL2 in wall rated subwoofer cable, 7 - 12ga in wall rated speaker wires, a 50' IR extension cable, a CL2 rated coax cable (mediabridge), a 50' CL2 HDMI (mediabridge) and still have room for more. Suffice to say, that this has pretty much all the room you will need for cables. On a side note this is created to work with low voltage cables (ie - no power cables or electrical outlet cables). As such, you do not run this into a regular blue electrical box (one reviewer was upset with how it did not fit in it). Instead, the directions clearly state you use a single gang low voltage old work box. Carlon makes some which sell for about $1.50 at home improvement stores. Amazon also sells them. Just keep that in mind when you are ordering this. 5A wonderful product... Just what I needed. Simple concept and very useful. Previously I used a six port amp interconnect wall plate with connectors for RGB w audio and coax for a swivel wall mounted LED TV. My problem with that setup was the swivel bracket would interfere with the wall plate and was always knocking the amp interconnect inserts loose. The DataComm 45-0001 works great. It allows the A/V cables to pass into the wall cavity at a tilted angle and the cable connections are now hidden in the wall. Under my old setup the cable end connectors where always getting bumped because they stuck straight out from the wallplate. This was also hard on the cable ends. The new DataComm plate was far less expensive than the old configuration, and much easier and practical to implement. 5Works great. Perfect for running cables behind drywall between TV and cable box. 5Does Exactly as Intended! I bought a couple of these guys to install as a part of my floating entertainment center project so I could hide all the cables. With a little bit of handy experience, these were a breeze to install. The outlet is very high quality and you won't be disappointed. Just ensure that you also by the Monoprice 107013 1-Gang Low Voltage Mounting Bracket to mount it.Also, feel free to check out my home entertainment project in which I used these products by visiting letstalkgeekstuff.com/?p=160Hope this helps! 5This is what you need. Does what it's supposed to do. For a few years, I had a dozen wires coming out of my wall via an ugly blue box, until I discovered there was a better/more finished & professional looking way...I had my wires coming out of a plastic single gang "remodeling" box. Because that box had a back and was only standard depth (not deep), I had to cut off a good inch off the back of this cover plate, but was very easy w/ a hack saw - 15 seconds....Btw, no issues with the provided screws matching up, all is standard stuff, simple... 5Work great for routing cables These worked great. They are in cheap plastic packaging and had micro scratches from the UPS journey but I'm not nit picky enough to care about that. I'm using these to route subwoofer cables through in my home theater. No complaints. 5Not bad for price While I wish they came with the plate to go in the drywall, I guess that is my fault for not reading into it beforehand to make sure it came with them. They still worked out perfectly fine for me for my living room wall mount and I have another for use in the bedroom when I get to that step. 4Looks great I bought this to feed a couple of cables through my wall that is towards my av equipment. So far this is how many are feeding thru it and still have plenty of room: i have 2 HDMIs, 1 Ethernet cat6, power cord,Dishtv coax cable, and a subwoofer cable all wrapped with a black spiral sleeve and still have room to run more cable through it. Very impressed awesome price and the black plates looks better on my walls. 5Fantastic invention Purchased this item along with the Arlington TVB613BL-1 Recessed TV 4-Gang Outlet Box so that I could hide the cables running up from the back of my entertainment stand & up to an articulating wall mount & behind my TV.Installed this item down low, behind the entertainment stand, and it was more than able to handle the bundle all of my cables, which were fed up to & separated at the 'Arlington' outlet box installed next to the articulating TV mount. I had chosen the Arlington style box for a 'cleaner' look behind the TV, because I am using an articulating wall mount where the cable exit point could be easily seen when the TV was extended away from the wall, but if your application is for a fixed mount, I would recommend getting two of THESE mounts (one for each end). All in all, a great little product that makes for a 'clean' looking job. 5
