Customer Reviews

Great power strip, unsure about cable support bar This is a great power strip with flexible mounting options. It comes with a cable management bracket which is a great idea, but also kind of the weak spot of the product; once it's attached, it's impossible to get plugs in/out of the back of the power strip if there's a device installed in the rack slot directly above it. Also, the bracket is close enough to the power strip that it can be impossible to plug in larger wall warts. A flat cable support bar with anchors for Velcro would work just as well, and be somewhat easier to use in practice. 4I searched on the internet for several days and this was the best product for my application I had 8 power cords, several which were so large that they covered 2 outlets that were plugged into 2 bulky surge protectors, They were very unsightly. I was able to mount this slim unit on the back of my file cabinet and plug everything into it so it is all out of sight. It is a very solid, well made product. I searched on the internet for several days and this was the best product for my application. A real bonus was the attractive price. I also love the security of purchasing from Amazon. 5This was perfect for what I needed This was perfect for what I needed. I'm glad it has a long power cord, but ... I kinda wish it was just a weee bit shorter for my needs. Not gonna drop a star for what is my own personal preference. Under most other conditions, tho, the super-long cord would be a life-saver, tho! Unbeknownst to me, this also included a nice cable tray for routing cables through the back, so they don't just hang straight down (thus adding strain). I like the cable tray a LOT! I still needed a "wall-wart killer" (1-ft extension) for some things, tho, but I planned on that. The cable tray sits just a wee bit too close for a wall-wart to fit in. It's not a big deal, because I already planned to use the extensions anyway. I especially love the 2 outlets on the front for "quick servicing" of devices in the closet. I got this power bar also for that explicit feature. This is exactly what I wanted/needed. Glad I got it! 5Not perfect, but 18 outlets! 18 outlets and a $150,000 connected-equipment warranty? Wonderful![Edit: Manufacturer responded to my review, and has corrected a small error in the listing that I noticed. Now the summary, description, specifications and images all agree on 3600 joule suppression. Originally, a discrepancy led to me investigating the manufacturer's product detail page for this model on their own website.]Unfortunately, that same product page revealed that the clamping voltage on this protector is 400 volts. High-quality consumer surge protectors clamp to (aka 'let through') 330 volts at most. Here, lower is better for your downstream products, while worse for the longevity of the surge protector. If you need protection for sensitive equipment, you might be better served by a more stringent surge protector. My use was for mounting to the underside of a desk; I was able to use the included rackmount brackets to hang it (turned 90 degrees from their intended orientation) and still get 2 screws attaching the bracket to the surge protector. This proved more than adequate even with as heavy as this all-metal surge protector is.Note that the cord on this is 15' and is a traditional straight-on plug. I found both to be bothersome - the heavy-duty cord was far too long for me, quite weighty when bundled, and I ended up needing a Hug-A-Plug so the cord wouldn't protrude nearly as far from the wall.[2016 Update: no complaints after a year of 24/7 use.][2019 Update: still works great] 4Perfect addition to 25U rack Was looking for a power bar / surge suppressor before adding on a UPS later on in my rack. I noticed a lot of the top rated / best selling rackbar had 6 outlets in the front and 6 in the rear, and so on -- I didn't understand this. After going to CyberPowers site and poking around a little more I discovered this line compared to the more popular ones.Looking at the comparison it seemed like a no brainer, there's more joule coverage overall, more NEMA ports in the rear, two extra up front just in case, and actual surge suppression (If you wanted more in the rear on the other line your option was to go 20 amp, or lose out on surge suppression). Seemed way more fitting the bill than anything else. Received it in a great packaging, I had to put the wire bar on manually which I thought was a bit of an odd setup but everything went together pretty easily. Wired everything up and works great. Got the twelve outlets in the back and two up front. Easy to hook up to a 19" rack width too. There was also an option to set the depth a little more into the rack if you so chose, seemed like a few configuration options that I didn't particularly need. 5Many Outlets - Good Protection - Home or Business Big fan of this Surge Suppressor. I've seen these used in a rack at businesses and was impressed with the many outlets and 1U design. For home, I had been trying to find one with many outlets and the suppressor capability but the options are limited. Came across the CyberPower on Amazon and bought 2 immediately. One is in the family room with Media PC, TV, DVD player, etc connected leaving me enough outlets for anything else and the other is in the office with router, switch, NAS and cable modem connected. Neither one is in a rack of course but both are rock solid and provide lots of space for big plugs or more connections. I would give these the full 5 stars and really have no good reason not to. Just wish they had an option to lay them down or stand them up on a flat surface. 4Works as advertised I would recommend getting the 10 pack of 1ft power cord extension cables so those wall warts don't hog up multiple outlets. 5A well-made a power strip with one design flaw. A well-made a power strip with one design flaw.It has no ON-OFF switch just a circuit breaker. I wish they spent a bit more money and had a, "Pull-to-Turn-Off" Circuit breaker. The ability to rapidly kill the power, can be a terrific safety feature. They also have a prohibition against using any mounting hardware other than there own. This is probably because they are concerned that your own screws might go inside the unit and contact live circuitry. Internal blocking could prevent this possibility and give the user more mounting options.Made in Communist China. 3Works great, looks good. Love front access ports Got this to help my 1/4 rack and 1/2 rack systems mounted to the front to get power without having to get super long power cords. Works great. Even has front power ports that I didn't think were going to be useful but they turn out to be super nice for the Monitor cart. 5Great product Installed two years ago and still working perfectly. Shallow depth allows use even in shallow patch panel racks.I saw complaints that outlets are too close together and large plugs might fit in every available outlet. Since rack width is limited by 19" spec, there's no way to fit this many outlets at rear with more space between them. I can use every outlet for regular plugs and just had to skip a few when plugging in cheaper products that use wall warts. For ease of cable management, I used the rear outlets to power rack equipment and front only for temporary use. Highly recommended. 5
