Customer Reviews

Red switches are not illuminated. Low quality. Pros: Nice somewhat sturdy metal box, and the grey color looks professional for live A/V events. Female receptacles are stiff when plugged in to, which I like. Cord is a useful length.Con: The red reset switch does not illuminate. While not a major issue, this does cause brief confusion when a person is accustomed to using the red switch to visually indicate that power is on.Update 6 months later: 1 out of six I purchased of these broke, something internally is rattling inside. Low quality, stay away from these. 2Perfect casual-use surge protector for me CyberPower seems to have a knack for offering products that are just different enough to get my attention. There are an untold number of power strips out there that look about the same as this one, but CyberPower gave it a little twist by including 900 Joule surge protection. Perhaps not robust enough for the most expensive equipment, but about average for surge protectors in this price range - AND it's a proper power strip as well. The outlets look like standard duplex outlets, which means they are spaced somewhat wider than most surge protectors, and that leaves more room for power bricks (the bane of modern man). I would say that the outlets also have the preferred orientation, or at least, it seems to me that most power bricks seem to be moving in the direction of what one might call a horizontal orientation, such that two could be plugged in right next to each other in a standard duplex outlet...which again, is the kind of outlets that this power strip has.The case is a silver-gray finished steel, and there are keyhole mounting point on the back (bottom?) of the strip, making it great for surface mounting The power cord is pretty nice...more flexible than most. There is not light in the switch, and I suppose that one can take that as a benefit or not, but personally, I like it. Those neon-lit power switches always die a flickery death anyway.I like the sturdy build quality, I like the color, and I like the outlet orientation and spacing. I know it's from China, but an old-school American sentiment is there, nonetheless. Nice job CyberPower. 5Basic Functional Power Strip It's a basic all metal power strip with surge protection and a circuit breaker. Not industrial duty, but good enough for average use.UL listed. The Unit is labeled as 500V clamping voltage. The box and UL listing say 400V, not sure what it really is.There is no on-off light, that might be important for some cases. It has mounting holes on the rear.I wouldn't use this to protect really expensive or sensitive equipment, but it's perfectly adequate for my purposes. 4OK for the price CyberPower is a leading brand and sets a high standard when it comes to battery backup and power strips. However this one falls somewhat short. It works, however when attempting to plug things into it, it took a lot of force to get the plugs in. A rediclous amount of force on this model. And yes the plugs were positioned correctly when inserting them. 3Useless In My Home I purchased 5 of these to use around the house. I happened to read the user manual that came with these and it states "DO NOT install this device if there is not at least 10 meters (30 feet) or more of wire between the electrical outlet and the electrical service panel." Well that pretty makes this useless for most of my home's outlets. I can't be sure that within the walls that at least 30 feel of electrical wire separate the outlet from my main panel. To be sure I called Cyber Power and spoke with someone in tech support. He checked with his lead and confirmed what the manual says, that it is not recommended to use if not at least 30 feet worth of wire away from your main panel. I asked "Why, what could happen? The surge protector could catch on fire or something?" He replied, "Yes, something like that."So I am returning these to get something that I can actually use in my home. Unfortunate because I really like the all-metal housing of this item. 1BEWARE! BEWARE! Cyberpower is playing a Bait & Switch game here. I bought this from Amazon.com on 7/13.18. The Cyberpower website (AND the datasheet that came packed with the unit) both say that the UL Clamping voltage is 400V. But upon receival, I find that the UNIT ITSELF(as well as the Cyberpower box) both say the UL Clamping Voltage is 500V. This is totally inadequate for protecting electronic equipment, rendering the unit unsuitable as a Surge Protector. 1Great! Be sure to get a warranty too! So far so good. I installed it just last night and it is pretty nice to have a more organized layout for my wires and devices. You have to kind of wiggle the plugs in at a certain angle to have it completely plugged but we will see how it works when we get out Xbox up and running again (I think one of the reasons my power brick failed was because there was too many devices on demanding too much power and the original outlet couldn't handle it.) 5Quality surge protector at a reasonable price We lost several surge protectors during a summer electrical storm. That's what they are supposed to do. They take the hit and save your valuables. I wanted to replace them with a good quality surge protector but didn't want to break the bank. These did the trick. I do wish they had an ivory option. 5Defective on arrival. Indicator light didn't work so I ... Defective on arrival. Indicator light didn't work so I wasn't going to take any chances on discovering any other defects. 1Works well, has plenty of room for power bricks. I have not had a power failure or surge to say that this unit has protected my devices yet, but as for initial install and use, I like it. I would only change one thing, it has a flat plug which is great, but it is pointed to one side, it would be good if it either came with a swivel flat plug, or if it went straight down. Small nitpick, nothing more. Plenty of room of wall bricks and it's compact enough to put anywhere. 5
