Customer Reviews

The Difference In Performance Is Truly Amazing I usually have Task Manager running in the upper right-hand corner of my monitor so I can observe the use of three main resources; CPU Usage, Memory and Hard Disk activity. With all the adds you are bombarded with on Web sites these days it is easy to put a strain on resources, which causes computers to slow down significantly. In addition to doubling my memory to 16 GB, I also installed a 1 TB Crucial Solid State Drive. The difference in performance is amazing. There is no more frustration at startup, and the speed of loading pages is amazing. It was definitely worth the effort. 5Easy upgrade, running great now - recognized immediately, running with no errors or problemsI bought 2 of these after using the scanner at the Crucial site to make sure I was buying the right thing. I am glad they sell on Amazon at the same or better price; Crucial is a great company that makes dependable products that I've relied on for years, and Amazon has tremendous' customer service. The sticks arrived without static damage. They snapped right in and sped one of my computers up immediately. I had upgraded that machine to Windows 10 and it had been having out of memory messages and shut downs. This fixed that problem and the PC is speedy and useful again. The system recognized the memory immediately and it all registered. I've had no memory errors at all.I'm very pleased with this purchase. If this system would take more, I'd buy more!5Recommended / Tested for Dell OptiPlex 7010.Got a deal on a refurbished Dell Optiplex 7010 SFF (i5-3470 version) and tried 2 different sets of memory (Kingston and Patriot) DDR3 1600 PC3 12800 but neither set worked. I found out that the computer preferred low voltage DDR3 1.35v (DDR3L) instead of the regular 1.5v DDR3.Tried this memory and it matched fine w/ the existing Samsung memory in the Dell.5VERY POWERFUL UPGRADEI purchased the 8Gb x2Sticks to replace a single 4Gb that was installed on my Dell Optiplex 7010 ultra small form factor. At first, I was skeptical I will see noticeable differences in chrome and office. I was wrong, I cut my boot time by minutes, I can safely run multiple windows at the same time without tapping into my hard drive's virtual RAM. Quite simply my lag issues were solved by bumping my RAM from a single stick 4Gb to dual stick 16Gb total. Anyone on the fence about this upgrade should definitely consider doing this upgrade before upgrading anything else. I will be swapping out my hard drive to improve storage performance.5Great way to add life to older PCI have a five year old desktop PC that came with two 4 gig RAM DDR3 memory sticks. One of the two went bad - rare problem fortunately. So, I added this 8 gig DDR3 and now have 12 gigs of RAM to speed performance. On a related note, I added a solid state drive as the "C" drive for the operating system, and that helps boost performance a lot! Tech support was very helpful with guidance on my motherboard and what RAM to buy.5Upgraded Lenovo ThinkStation Easily, Improved Performance, Crucial Is A Brand I TrustI got two 4GB sticks to upgrade a pair of oldish Lenovo ThinkStations from 4GB to 8GB. They had been upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and things slowed down. The Crucial web site's memory selector came up with this memory and it cost less on Amazon, so here I am!The two systems had one 4GB Samsung brand module in each one, so I moved one of those to the other machine and put both of these into one to have matching modules in each. Installation was a snap as one might expect with DIMM's. These modules were instantly recognized by the ThinkStation and provided a very noticeable performance improvement.I've had very good luck with Crucial RAM over many hundreds of modules in the last about 20 years. The couple that failed were replaced by Crucial without hassle. Memory seldom fails these days so it's not a big concern for me.Because I trust Crucial and this did the trick as expected I'm giving it 5 stars5Works GREAT!!! Bought a used Dell Inspiron 660 i5 with windows 10 from Ebay.It had 4gb of ram. I bought 8 (the recommended capacity though several internet sources says it can take 12-16gb.) 2 4 of the Same memory just to be on the safe side.It worked GREAT. The dual voltage 1.35v and 1.5v capability was a Big help. I had to return a single 8gb stick that was a 1.5 volt because it caused my computer to beep.I didn't even try to power it up at that point, I just put it neatly back in its packaging and returned for a refund. Now, my computer ZOOOOMS along.I am 100% Satisfied!Later I Might try to bump it up to 12gb ram but I actually don't think it's necessary because its doing Great! 5great memory, works perfectlyI purchased to upgrade an old Dell XPS 8300 to use for a programming project (running Ubuntu linux, used for Jetson TX1 dev).- turned computer off. left power supply attached so case was grounded, to contain static.- removed old ram , vacuumed out the 4 slots- seated these squarely. very snug fit, check orientation before inserting- booted up with F2 key, went to bios so mem count would be updated. speed listed as 1333. saved & exit- computer ran perfectly. did a sudo apt-get install memtester- sudo memtester 15000 1- memory came up 100% clean no errors :)i would definitely recommend this memory. have never had problems with crucial DDR'sstatic is your enemy. leave PC off but power supply plugged in, as this keeps the pc chassis grounded. if you keep an elbow or foot or something against the frame, you are grounded. also always always avoid touching any of the gold exposed parts of any board or chip. "midas touch" effect lol5WARNING: You are ordering desktop RAM but may receive the LAPTOP versionI ordered this RAM for a desktop, was sure it was desktop ram not only by the product picture but by the part number and received the SoDIMM version for a laptop. I thought I made a mistake, but after looking at the package, you can see that the RAM in the picture has a sticker on it that shows the DESKTOP part number, when it's obviously laptop RAM.I talked to an Amazon rep who sent me another stick after I sent mine back in, and guess what -- the SAME thing. So apparently they've labeled a bunch of these with the wrong barcode/part number. I finally just told them to give me a refund, because at this point it seemed very likely I'd be getting yet ANOTHER stick of laptop RAM.1Does not work with Windows 7 32 bit/ Dell OptiplexBought to upgrade an old (2009 or so) Dell Optiplex running Intel Core Duo processor. Had 4gb ram installed and two open slots. Used Crucial's memory scanner on my computer and it showed the open slots and said I could upgrade up to 16GB. I purchased the two 4GB sticks and installed. No improvement. After much research, learned my version of Windows will only support 4GB ram, so this install did NOTHING to improve my computer's slow performance. Ended up returning these, and purchased a newer computer. Too bad Crucial's scanner didn't know that. I like Crucial and will continue to use them, but they dropped the ball on this one.3Crucial Is Great Memory But In My Case It Didn't Play Well With My Existing Corsair Memory..... These Crucial Memory Sticks worked as expected except for the fact that they didn't play well with my existing 4GB of Corsair Memory which I had placed in the computer when I built it. I understood the chance that they may not work together from the description that Crucial had mentioned on the Amazon question and answer page but was hoping for the best. Of course I ended up removing the Corsair and left the new Crucial Memory in place and after the OS ran the Windows Memory Diagnostic program due to the conflicts on the initial boot up between the two different brands of memory the Crucial sticks have been performing like they should. I may decide to upgrade to another 8GB Crucial Kit if I'm still having memory issues with my Family Tree that I've been adding ancestors, photos and documents to over the past couple of years. 4Using Crucial's excellent website, I was able to ensure that this ...The main concern with RAM is ensuring you buy the exact right RAM for your particular system. Using Crucial's excellent website, I was able to ensure that this was the correct RAM for me (I ordered through amazon to make use of Prime and because I had a gift card). It seemed slightly tricky to determine if this particular item was the one described on Crucial's website, but after comparing the specs I ordered this kit. Installation was easy and my computer has been running smoothly since. This is exactly what I was looking for at a fair price point.5Works on my Dell Optiplex 780 DTHi My Mother Just recently bought me These 2 4GB Memory Sticks. My Dell OptiPlex 780 Dt is running Really great now. I discovered that for some other people to know. You have to first remove all your memory sticks from your computer, then just install the new Crucial 4GB sticks in Slots 1 & 2 with leaving slots 3 & 4 empty. My Computer wouldn't boot up with the 2 4GB & 2 2GB in the my computer. Once my Computer Booted up and I signed in on the 2 4GB Memory sticks I then shut off my computer and installed my older 2 GB sticks in Slots 3 & 4. My computer booted up and I saw a total of 12GB of Memory installed. I included a Diagram of which slots are which in my Computer. I hope this helps others if they have a booting up problem.THANKS, Crucial & Amazon for having this Item! I plan on Buying 2 More 4GB sticks for a Total of 16GB in my computer. Thanks again,Sincerely,Billy.5
