    Unexpected, great bookOnce in awhile you come across a new book by an author you've never read before and you get blown away. Lancaster has the unique ability to bring you right inside the story so you feel like you're there; witnessing it in 3D surround sound. The story of a rural farming family. The kids are thoroughly obnoxious. It reminded me of the stories my dad used to tell about his youth. He grew up during that same era and in rural San Joaquin Valley. The ending is so poignant. I am disappointed that I can't find any other books by the author on Amazon. Ken Lancaster did a great job of capturing a piece of rural America and made it relevant to everyone who reads it.
