    Strong must have toolI have had this little workhorse for many years. My son bought a 7" bar of a different brand from a box store, because this particular one isn't sold locally. Every time he tried to use his other brand, it would bend into a flat piece of metal. I searched online and found this beauty at an incredible price. It will be in his roll bag for the rest of his life. This is a must have tool for a carpenter and will last a lifetime.5Two Inches More!Trim carpenters take note! The extra 2 inch length, and the wide thin edge make this the best for molding work. Same soft steel as all of them, so not ideal for heavy nail prying. A harder steel would be more brittle, causing failure when prying. The other end takes a good beating from your hammer without damage. Not high science here, but nice to know you will lose it at a jobsite before it breaks. Both pry ends are pretty sharp and made quick work of some old drywall nails. The metal quality seems to be pretty good. I pulled probably 50 nails and the bar doens't seem to show any wear or rusting. I am a professional carpenter and have put this through the works, and it has held up well. I have removed nails as big as 16d buried in framing with ease. This would not be the tool to use to remove buried nails in finished work you don't want damaged, but that should be fairly obvious. It has a good length, is well balanced and comfortable to grip, and the red is easy to see on a job site.5The 12" length gives this unit superior leverage over most othersThe 12" length gives this unit superior leverage over most others. The bright red paint is great. It's easy to spot and looks sharp. My only complaint is that the nail slot in the flat blade end is extremely small. I can see it only working with super small finish nails. That isn't a deal breaker for me but that's what kept me from giving it 5 stars.4Solid long lasting product.Nice little product that has held up well through numerous uses.5
