Customer Reviews

HeavyUsing it to plug a 16 amp Shop Fox dust collector into a farther 30 amp outlet. All my closer electric outlets were 15 amp and triggered the circuit breakers. This cord is physically heavy! It's thicker than any power cord on any device I own.It has a little light at the female end, which I believe is actually a neon lamp bulb. Neon lamp bulbs are very interesting because they need the ionization from light to actually fire up: meaning-neon lamp bulbs don't work well in dark rooms, which is why they usually flicker, unless they're the type with a little bit of radioactive material (Krypton--which is a real thing!) in them.Perfect!5Works for me Does a great job. Needed to power a radiator type space heater in a 100 year old basement that did not have available outlets. Yes, heater manufacturers do not recommend this for safety reasons but my pipes needed to have additional protection from freezing. No warmup is produced from the extension cord plug from wall outlet or heater plug. Additionally, I run the space heater on low. I do recommend checking the amps and watts on any device that you use any extension cord. 5Failed after 6 months charging TeslaUsing this to charge my Tesla Model 3 at 12a/120v. The female end of this extension cord must be cheap garbage. The mobile connector throttles the amp draw to 6amps because it gets so hot after about 1 hour at 12amps. Unfortunately, this will likely lead to a fire. Throwing it away asap! Don't use this for charging an EV.1Weighs a lotThis cord is not only heavy duty; it is really heavy. If you intend to move this cord around frequently, you might consider getting two 50 ft cords instead of a single 100 ft.Be advised that the female end of this cord is a "single" socket. That was the preferred option for me because my "triple" socket cords mostly lie in the dirt and get gunked up in the two unused ports. If you need multiple sockets, simply buy a 10ft cord with triple receptacles to add to the long cord. That short cord might come in handy for indoor applications such as space heaters or power tool workbench.I use my 10 gauge cords to operate my swimming pool pump and electric tillers/mowers/dethatchers a long distance from power source. I've left these cords outside for more than five years with no noticeable damage other than grime. This is the gauge of cord I use when distance is a factor. Portable generator/air compressor/Christmas lights/saws/hedge trimmer/battery charger/etc.Use the heavy gauge cord to get the power out to your work area, then attach a more pliable cord for your tool.Using light gauge wire over long distances is dangerous and can actually damage your tools by overheating the motors. This 10 gauge cord is a smart gift for stupid spouses. Oops.5Fabulous for my Electric Vehicle! I wanted to be totally confident when charging my Electric Smart Car at home. I could not find a robust (10 guage) 110 extension cord anywhere in stores. This was slam-dunk perfect, exactly what I needed to feel secure when charging my vehicle overnight.Thank you for providing a needed hard to find product :) 5Went after 2 weeks of using! company worthless!I used it 2 weeks and it stopped working! Within 8 days of the amazon warranty, for me it was a big deal! I emailed the company, nothing! I got another extension cord from US wire that is working great! They did not make the 10/3. This is really hard for a working person! I had given it 5 stars right away! Big mistake!1Excellent extension for electric car EVSE/charger.Almost exactly what I wanted to extend the reach of my portable EVSE/charger for my EV. The cable is easily able to handle up to 20amps, but the plugs are only rated at 15amps. I would have given a 5 star rating if both plugs and cable were rated at 20 amps, but no one appears to sell these for public 120 volt uses.4Well worth it for plug in hybrid ownersI currently own a honda clarity which comes with its own 7 foot cable which isnt long enough if you park out doors where outlets and charging stations are usually occupied by the wrong cars. I carry this cable 247 wrapped up in my trunk just in case but I also use it in my parking complex at home every other day and so far so good. The cable is very thick and heavy but its the correct cable size to efficiently charge a plug in or full electric car like the Honda Clarity and others like it. I was concerned at first about using an extension cord with a hybrid but after much research I found out that this is the perfect one and it lived up to hype. I compared it to thinner lower priced cables and all of those heated up quickly but this "Conntek" cable is constantly cool to the touch even after 12 straight hours of usage. My friends with hybrids now have the same cable due to my suggestion and theyre all happy5Well constructed heavy cordUsed this extension cord to rewire a machine. I frequently purchase extension cords with molded plugs to rewire appliances and machines because the molded-on plugs look better and perform better then heavy duty plugs sold by hardware stores. I used this Conntek 10 ga cord to rewire a table saw with a 1 1/2 hp motor. I cut the receptacle end off the cord and connected the wires to a magnetic switch on my table saw. When I chopped off the receptacle end and stripped it to prepare for attach to my saw I was able to see how well constructed the inside of the cord was. The 10 ga wires were well insulated with thick soft flexible rubber type color coded coverings. There were three stands of what appeared to be a sisal type light rope woven in with the wires to strengthen the finished cord. The cord has a nice heavy feel to it and the flexibility makes it easy to store and drag out for connecting the machine to power.5It is amazing, but careful, it is huge! One of the reviewers said that "don't buy it if you don't need it". That sounds silly, but it is true. Don't buy if there is another, thinner extension that will do the same job. I didn't head the advice. This thing is so heavy that it was flexing the power plug (it sits high up in the garage). Being so thick, it is also difficult to bend (which could be a feature for another use case). So I had to return it for one with a smaller gauge. However, if you need it, you can't go wrong. This thing is very well constructed. I have no doubt it can perform as advertised. I even charged my Nissan Leaf twice with it. Works, doesn't heat at all. The fact that it wanted to tear the plug away from the wall (while being firmly secured and with no damage to its plug) speaks volumes of its construction.5Handles full amperage 24/7! Great for RV!If you are looking for am extension cord that's not going to burn up or over heat, this is the one. It can handle a full 20 amps all day long and not overheat. We tried several other cords from other manufacturers and this is the best,5Heavy Duty, Thick Extension Cord Works PerfectlyThis is a 10 gauge extension cord. I use it to run a small space heater from an outlet in another room to different rooms in the house during extremely cold weather. While it is not recommended to use an extension cord with a space heater, I found that the 10 gauge cord allows me to run the heater just fine and there is no heat from the cord or the outlet. 12, 14 and 16 gauge extension cords will heat up and literally melt the outlet or the plug at the outlet (which I found out by experience - luckily I was there when it happened so no damage other than replacing the outlet and throwing away the old cord). This cord has not heated up nor caused any damage to itself or the outlet and we have one heater hooked to it constantly in the winter for spot heating certain rooms. Be aware that the cord is extremely thick and heavy. I would suggest that you get the shortest length you can if you use this for a space heater or air conditioner (I am pretty sure this cord can handle any regular appliance/tool/etc. you can throw at it). In the summer, we plan on using it for some of our electric garden tools instead of our 12 gauge cords, or at least plug the longer 12 gauge ones into this one for added extension with no power loss to the tools. If you have a very demanding appliance or tool, this is a great extension cord. It is also pretty flexible considering the thickness. The only con I can see is that it has just 1 plug but you can always put a 3 plug adapter into it if you are running more than 1 tool, just don't overload your circuits. Finally, an extension cord that works well for what we use it for and at a good price.5
