    Three Stars Really nice antenna. But it falls down while driving. Needs a stronger spring. 3One of the best 2m antennas I've used I got this originally intending to mount on the car with a big mag mount when not moving around, but it ended up being my base antenna from indoors. I added a counterpoise wire at around 19 inches in length, and get 1:1 SWR on 2m, and ~1.3:1 on 70cm (without changing the counterpoise wire). I guess my second floor is a good spot because I easily hit repeaters 50mi away on 15w from inside. 6m has a high SWR, and I haven't quite figured out how to bring that down despite the ability to adjust the tips of the antenna. I had to throw some ferrite clips onto the coax to be able to transmit on 6, but once I did, I am able to hit a 6m repeater some 37 miles away. No successful QSO so far on 10m, but I think that's mostly due to the solar cycle; the 10m band is pretty dead in 2017. Fairly high SWR (~2.5:1) and I need a tuner to use 10m, but that's because I'm lazy and have not tried an appropriate length counterpoise wire. I'm sure I could get that below 1.5:1 SWR with the right grounding.As with all antenna scenarios, it's not just the antenna but ground obstacles, positioning, and tuning. I even layed the antenna sideways on occasion and got good SSB signals from 40 miles away. Not advisable since it applies pressure to the antenna, but possible. As a 2m/440 with a 19" length of wire at the outer part of the connector for ground, it makes a great base antenna. The best I've used so far. 5Bs product won t hold up in winter weather I wouldn t but this product it does not hold up in winter weather if you need something fixed because of act of nature they Alex the company won t stand behind their product and will make you buy the replacement part 1Use a very strong magnet for the base if you use the magnet mount First, I didn't see where it said not recommended for a magnet base. Well it's not. The comet magnet base is no good for this antenna. It was blowing down just driving. I broke the top load within a week. Aside from that. Excellent antenna. I've been using it now for a while. Performs perfectly. 5quadband antenna this antenna works great and swr is low on both 2 meters and 70cm. that being said, i could not get the swr low enough to use on 6 meter. never tried 10 meter. so, if you're looking for just a dual band antenna this will work fine, but there's cheaper dual band antennas that work just as well, if not better. as a quad band, just doesn't work for me. 6 meter was a bust. 3Anyone looking for a Quad Band should be happy with this antenna I've used Comet products before so I was not surprised at the quality of construction. I'm using on the 2 & 70 portions right now but will be changing my radio to include 10M as well. Anyone looking for a Quad Band should be happy with this antenna. 5Five Stars Fantastic.
