    Five Stars Perfect 5Works really well, but... This works really well, but I had to alter it strait out of the case/box. The top-most antenna shaft receiver wasn't drilled out all of the way, and two of the little Allen-head were missing. I had the right size drill bit to machine it out the rest of the way, and since I already owned a Comet antenna (quad-band) I was able to rob parts off of my older one until i could get to the hardware store and purchase new ones.As far as how it works now? All of the HAMs say they can hear me great, and that's really what matters anyway... so it's a keeper. 3This thing gets out! I have this antenna mounted on the side of my toolbox on the bed of my truck, it blows my old mag-mount 1/4 wave antenna away. I can transmit full quieting to a repeater 22 miles away, with 5 watts, that my old 1/4 wave mag-mount couldn't reach at all. The construction is super solid, just make sure to put some blue Loctite on the grub screws that secure the antenna elements together so it doesn't accidentally come apart under vibration on the highway at 80 miles an hour, and crank the fold-over locking ring down with a pair of tongue-and-groove pliers. After that, you're all set. 5NOT an NMO base! Looked like a first rate antenna. Good gain, very well made. I really liked the knurled sleeve over the fold joint.The description is confusing. It implies the folding joint is a PL-259 joint when, in fact, it's a PL-259 base, NOT nmo as it appears.That's why I was unable to use it and exchanged for a different model. 5I like it. Appears to be better made than the Diamond antenna it replaces in that the construction looks more robust. Though the Diamond did last several years in a stationary installation. The propagation appeared to be at least as good. 5Five Stars This is a great antenna. Gain is incredible, built very well. 5Amazing Gain FANTASTIC ANTENNA. No seriously, this antenna has amazing gain. The folder over mechanism is FAR improved than other similar models. A bit pricey compared to other "budget friendly" antennas on Amazon. It's very well made, sturdy and my signal reports have been excellent. 5Ant fix for moisture You need to remove bottom element from base unscrew Collar Nut that holds ant vertical on the tilt. Slide a oil ring over shafts reassemble. You'll be glad you did the O-ring seals the collar and keeps moisture out of the top base of the antenna if you don't you'll have more sure you'll have problems you'll have static I can guarantee it it's a simple fix why Comet doesn't do it is beyond me. I would recommend this antenna. this is my second antenna as the first one broke at the base of the black tube. the threads must of been stripped or something of that nature. considering this slight malfunction, the tube should be metal, the antenna performs great. 4Great upgrade Worth the upgrade. 5
