Customer Reviews

Another quality CMT bladeI had great results with CMT 10" blades so I decided to try this blade on my Dewalt biscuit jointer. I could of gone with the stock Dewalt blade from Amazon, but I like this one because it had 2 extra teeth on it. The cuts are perfect and smooth no matter what wood I used it on which was hard maple and hickory. This blade will fit the Dewalt brand and also the Craftsman professional biscuit jointer. They are basically identical machines. I had to just do a little tapping with a rubber mallet to fit it on. The orange paint was a little thick on the inside of the opening of the blade.5Does not fit the Porter Cable 555!This blade does not fit the Porter Cable 555 plate jointer. It needs to shims that are paper thin as the original blade has a different thickness where the tightening and mounting flange meet the blade. The FAQ was incorrect.1Needed new blade for Harbor Freight biscuit joiner.Used to replace the original (new) blade on a Harbor Freight biscuit joiner. In hard oak wood, this blade cut clean properly sized and burn free slots for the biscuits with ease. Good product. Turned a mediocre fifty dollar tool into an excellent performing cutter.5Fixes sloppy Craftsman slots!Fits my Sears Craftsman Biscuit Joiner perfectly. Just has to sand some of the paint away from the inner mounting circle. Cuts well, and solved the problem this joiner has with the stock blade making cuts far too wide and sloppy. With this blade the biscuits fit snugly as they should! Well worth the cost.5Great replacement cutter. Turned my Harbor Freight joiner from a slot burning misaligning piece of junk to a precision joiner in oak hardwood no less. Nothing like a good sharp blade. And it fit the arbor with no modification ( 7/8 to 22mm a few thousandths of an inch difference ). 5Fits Porter Cable 557Fits Porter Cable 557 plate joiner perfectly. The 8 tooth blade make a very good cut. I think this wil lbe better than the 6 tooth that came with the tool.5The blade will fit the Porter Cable biscuit jointer 557The blade will fit the Porter Cable biscuit jointer 557. The center section of the blade has additional material to increase its thickness. The carbide tips are about 0.002 inches smaller than the original blade. A biscuit will be a tight fit, which keeps it from falling out. If the biscuit is to tight, it can be placed in a vice and reduced in thickness. It will expand when glue is applied. The only problem was with the center hole that fits over the arbor of the jointer. The coating on the inside surface reduces the size enough so the blade had to be forced over the spindle. It was very hard to get the blade back out. Sand paper was used to remove the coating from the hole. The blade would then seat on the arbor and could be properly secured.Overall the blade performs very well.5Eight Is Better Than SixI have used other CMT after-market blades and bits before and have been completely satisfied with them. They did not disappoint this time either. I bought the CMT to replace the factory blade on my Porter Cable 557. At first, I was going to order the Porter Cable blade, but damned if I'm going to pay close to A THIRD OF THE PRICE OF A NEW MACHINE FOR IT! So enter the CMT for twenty two bucks. Hey what do you know??!! its not only a perfect fit, but its got eight carbide teeth instead of the Porter Cable's six. It cuts smoother than the PC blade ever did.5It worksAbout 6 months ago it occurred to me that I was pushing way too hard to make cuts with my Porter Cable plate joiner. I gave it some thought and realized that over the past 10-12 year I have made more than 2,500 cuts with the original blade. I priced the OEM blade and was shocked at how much they cost so I put off buying one. If I remember correctly it was $55. The super spy, Facebook, put an add for this CMT blade in my newsfeed. It hadn't occurred to me to hunt down a non-OEM blade. I bought it and it works great. It has more teeth than the original. It's been so long that I couldn't say if this blade is sharper when it's new than the original. It is sharp, though, and works great. Huge difference. Blunt creeps up on you over time. Now my joiner cuts very easily.5Like it a lot I use biscuits a lot and I replaced an over used blade with this one and have been very pleased with it. Virtually no tear out so simply plung, glue and insert biscuit, no digging out sawdust or cutting off wood fibers that didn't properly saw off with a dull blade. Happy with it. 5Similar to a Lamello blade with a few differencesI'm trying this blade as a replacement blade in my Lamello top 20. I like that I can get five of these blades for the cost of one Lamello blade. It fits the machine and seems to cut just fine, but there are some differences. The Lamello blade has only two teeth with a positive hook, the other four have a negative rake. In comparing the cut between the two blades, I found that the CMT blade cut a little closer to the top surface of the material, which is no big deal, and that the CMT slot was a little narrower, so that the biscuits fit tighter. Since biscuits tend to be manufactured a little looser these days, that's a good thing if you like to dry fit things. The biscuits don't fall out when you're moving parts around. But some biscuits will end up too tight, and a lot of the ones that do go in will have to be pulled out with pliers.3Not bad at all Not bad at all. Lamello's blade is just insane money wise. My Old Top 10 didn't notice the difference, nor should you.A good buy IMO. 5Good BuyI checked the thickness of the blade and find that it is .125" thick and not the advertised .110" thick. I have the PC 557 and the original comes with a blade plate thickness of .125. The 240.008.04 says it is only .110 as per the manufacture. So I checked my 557 fit up to see if it would work with a blade that is only .110 thick and found that it would. The blade cuts well and works nice!!5Great replacement for great price. Seems to be just fine. Fits, with a little persuasion, just fine. And it cuts . 5
