High Quality for the PriceI just got these last week so I might need to use it more to really measure it. I use these headphones for sleeping and studying. It works great! I m always in my room and my house can get noisy. This works great because it blocks my brother s snoring from another room, it blocks noises from the TV in the living room, although when my aunts & uncles visit they re usually loud but the headset is enough to cut the volume down to half.PROS:- works for sleeping & studying- snug, not too tight, enough to block noise (blocking noise is a high priority for me)- sturdy, doesn t look like it ll break any time soon- NOT as bulky as 3M peltor 141001, great for sleeping and it doesn t come off tooCONS:- not much I can say since I had these since last week5Best I have ever owned.I just got a pair of these Clear Armor Hearing Protection ear muffs. I used them right off with my yard blower and it appear to me that they actually cut the noise more by far than any pair I've owned in the past. I was confused about the NRR rating, as it is not listed, so I e-mailed the manufacturer and he told me that the ANSI and EPA standards have been upgraded and they indicate it is not possible to get any rating better than 31 decibels protection. These are the same ear muffs that were advertised by Clear Armor at 34 decibel protection. That is the rating that an independent lab rated them at. They have been re-rated by the new standards and findings to meet the new ANSI and EPA rules. That is why they are advertised as the best rating. It appears there are other manufacturers that are using the old ruling. Apparently somebody is trying to get a bill passed to require all makers to be re-rated and required to show actual rating under new rulings. Clear Armor is honest and want to show actual rating.I love mine. They are really comfortable. I wear glasses and the soft material that meets your head seals off all areas where sound can't get in including around my glasses stems. I love them so much I ordered my adult daughter a pair. They are made of quality material and very well constructed. A couple of people complain about them being too tight. I have a large head (7 1/4) and I don't think they are to tight as they are very comfortable. You can't go wrong with these.5Great product, even better company. I bought these for a pistol class I was taking. These were by far the best protection on the market I could find and priced really well. They fit perfect and fold up nice. I keep them in my range bag. I also have to say the personal thank you note inside the packaging was a really nice touch. To top it off I received a personal email from the company asking if I received the product, and if it was anything less than perfect please let them know. You just don't get service like this anymore. I continue to be impressed. Please buy this product. This is an American company and I wish them nothing but success. 5Great Noise SupressionI took them out of the box as soon as they arrived and thought they might be bad. I had the TV on (playing at a normal volume) and could hear the dialogue clearly. Much reduced, but I could make out each word with no problem. Then I took them outside to do some construction work with leaf blowers and other tools and was really surprised.They dampen sounds but don't delete them. (I mean this positively.)It's like if you muffled a finger snap. You hear the snap and know it exists and is happening but it doesn't make you wince.The clearest (apologies for the lame example) I can give is imagine if you were in the first ten rows of a loud rock 'n roll concert and you had a long scarf wrapped around your head ten times. You can still hear everything happening but it's not annoying annoying and grating.I think they're great.They're bulky and aren't good for sleeping if you're someone who tosses and turns but if you use them for quiet time at home with noise around you or back yard use, they're pretty great.No case provided.5Fabulous Product for Fireworks--Even for our Daughter with AutismWe purchased these ear muffs for our daughter who has autism to wear while watching fireworks. We have tried other headphones before and it was still too loud. She'd end up screaming and running away. Not with these! Now, she can watch fireworks with no fear, and she absolutely loves it! I cannot thank you enough for creating this product. It has totally changed our quality of life. We went to Disney World and she was able to watch the fireworks there as well, and they are super loud. I cannot thank you enough!!5bought to drown out neighbors who think they can rockWhen driving around, every time I feel the need to bump up the volume on my car radio or CD, I have to remind myself that maybe not everyone within hearing distance wants to hear what I'm rocking out to. Some people just don't get Yanni.But what's that got to do with the product in question? Well, the main reason I bought these safety ear muffs isn't because I spend so much time at the gun range or do that much woodworking - although I do both activities and these ear muffs come in super-handy for those. I don't live next to an airport or by the train tracks.My next door neighbors are a garage band and, come the weekend, like clockwork, they and their edgy buddies bust up the neighborhood with their loud, obnoxious heavy metal garbage. It's not that I mind the genre. It's that my neighbors suck ass musically, and their lyrics consist of f-bombs that get ululated over a microphone. Try waking up to that on a Saturday morning when you're trying to catch up on sleep after a 12-hour night shift. Anyway, I cherish my ClearArmor safety ear muffs. I can't speak from a technical perspective. But while I can't measure decibels, I will say in plain speak that the noise reduction is incredible, and these bad boys saved my sanity.5on the basis of it being an Amazon Best Seller and having a relatively very high feedback metric The foam on the ear cups (that presses against your head to form the sound-tight seal) is very stiff and uncomfortable, to the point where I won't be able to wear these -- especially for extended periods of time. It also appears to be so stiff that these will not work with glasses -- either the glasses frames will "pry open" the sound-tight seal, or the hard foam will bend flimsier frames instead of molding around them, as softer foam or gel seals on other products do.I purchased this product when I saw it, not having immediate need but thinking of next summer, on the basis of it being an Amazon Best Seller and having a relatively very high feedback metric. I'm quite disappointed, given this. I will now spend the time and effort to research a high quality pair. I have some old ones where the foam or gel padding has "given out", but before this happened, they were significantly more comfortable than this pair. I now think I'll be careful in my decision, but then spend considerably more for e.g. something from 3M, preferably made for the commercial/professional marketplace. 1Comfortable, Effective - Can still focus during bathroom remodel!I bought these to be able to concentrate and get work done with a noisy bathroom remodel going on in the background. Two days into the work which has so far included banging, breaking, and cutting fiberglass with an obnoxious reverberating saw, I am happy to say these ear muffs have reduced intrusive sounds to white noise!While they don't block sound completely, I find these muffs are a great buffer. They muffle to mute regular conversation and take the edge off of really harsh, high pitched sounds -- so that what was a saw cutting fiberglass now sounds more like a mild dentist tool buffing and sanding in the other room. I can focus! I can tune it out! And to top it off, these muffs are very comfortable.5Daredevil Would Approve..! :) I put this on when I need to concentrate REALLY HARD! For instance--if I'm at home and the kids are getting kind of rowdy, I can escape and be able to grade papers or write some for my credential class. I have also slipped them over my bluetooth earbuds and played white noise. I have even done this at Starbucks. It felt like the people sitting next to me were "miming," but I was in ultimate peace. Most Starbucks are too loud for me--I am extremely noise-sensitive and have Misophonia. As a teacher, I have passed it to my students when they needed a reprieve. It is AMAZING how loud ambient noises-just in my neighborhood-are once you take these off. This is EXACTLY what I needed--short of a portable sensory deprivation tank a la "Daredevil!!!" 5Highly Effective, Great ValueI originally purchased these noise-reduction earmuffs for studying in the library - the whispers and chatter of fellow patrons was highly distracting. In this capacity alone, the earmuffs were 100% effective in eliminating the low-level sound distractions I had been experiencing and therefore merit a five-star rating. They are comfortable and able to be worn for hours at a time without becoming uncomfortable.However, my favorite use for the earmuffs was entirely unexpected. I live in New York City and ride the subway an hour each way to and from school. The subway is loud, the performers which frequent the trains are loud, even listening to music the entire way with my Sennheiser CX300 II CX 300 II Precision Enhanced Bass Earbuds, which themselves reduce a fair amount of the ambient noise, the experience is less than ideal.The game-changing moment was when I decided to wear the ClearArmor earmuffs over my earbuds - the result was nothing short of extraordinary. I can actually LISTEN to my music now in the highly noise-polluted subways of New York City. I'm currently in the library writing this review in a secluded carrel, listening to music with the earmuffs on over them, and I feel like I'm the only person in the building. There is absolutely no ambient sound whatsoever. Save yourself the hundreds of dollars you would spend on noise-cancelling headphones, buy a pair of quality earbuds like those from Sennheiser and pair them with the ClearArmor 141001 earmuffs. You will not regret it. This is honestly perhaps the best purchase I've ever made on Amazon, it has had a tremendous impact on my daily commute and ability to study without distraction, which is critical as I am student in law school. Excellent product. Five-stars all the way.5Permanent Hearing Damage? Well....I wore these to an indoor range for an hour a month ago and woke up the next morning with severe ringing in the ears and it's still there. 2 doctors and one Audiologist said I may I have to live with this for the rest of my life. And no...I wasn't shooting a 50 cal. All I have to say is don't fall for the hype."Sound Blocker Shell"....regular plastic. "Acoustic Foam"....maybe. "Sound Ring"...that's what you get in your ears. Again plastic ring molded into the shell. "NASA developed LRPu foam"... none of that in my product. The foam in my product is a very low density open cell foam. If you look in my photos you can see light shines through it easily. Also, why is the foam a different color in the other reviewer's photo? No quality control and exaggerated claims. The ClearArmor 141001 Shooters Hearing Protection is a Don't Buy in my book. Save your hearing, buy something else. 1So far so goodI'm autistic and work at a concert venue, because my life choice making skills are on point. Since I'd gotten fed up with the painful sensory input that is trying to wear foam earplugs and having to take them out and put them back in repeatedly during shows, I figured I would give these a try instead. They work well enough - hard to say if a different brand would work better, since these are the only ones I've owned, but they're definitely great outside of the setting I intended to use them in; they drown out background noise so well I've put them on at home and not wanted to take them off. Great for preventing or coming down from sensory overload. I wish they came in more colors.5Not for wide heads Very nice quality and they seal tightly around the ears. The only problem, I chose these because many reviewers said they fit large heads. I have a 61 cm round head and they're a bit tight. The top strap should be made in two pieces to slide over each other to expand, I'm surprised that it doesn't do this, as that would make them very suitable for the widest heads and making it work that way would be very easy and shouldn't add much at all to the cost. They work, but they feel a little tight, so be warned on that. I would have given them 5 stars if it had that feature. 3These have to be the best hearing protection I've ever worn--hands down Two weeks ago I went to the firing range for the first time since I was on active duty back in the 90's. I only wore the free foam ear plugs provided by the range. My ears rang for two solid days. I bought these and wore them to the range yesterday and after spending 6 hours there and firing all sorts of pistols and rifles, when I took the ear muffs off, I had absolutely no ringing at all! These have to be the best hearing protection I've ever worn--hands down! 5Best Ear Muffs I didn't know how good Ear Muffs could be until I got these. Great Product. Really appreciate that someone finally got them right. Good enough that I did a video where I dissected the two pairs these are replacing to figure out why these are SOOOoooo Much better and it makes it pretty clear why these Ear Muffs far exceed the competition. Thank You, Clear Armor, Love these Ear Muffs.5Great product for concertsSo I went to a concert for the first time ( I m 18 & autistic ) and bought these to wear while there to help drown out the loud noises. It was still VERY loud for me though when Rachel Platten was performing ( the guitars & drums mainly ) but once PENTATONIX was performing, it wasn t as loud ( because they re an A-cappella group, duh ).So during that loud part of the concert ( I had a overwhelming meltdown so my dad took me out to the hall ), the Headphones didn t do much for me, and what I did was put in those orange sound proof things (I can t remember what there called lol ) along with my headphones, and it was a thousand times better that way. But overall great quality and I still use them occasionally when going out into the community ( before I would just wear my headphones or earbuds ), like to shop. They re also good for when you want to read a book with 3 young siblings in the house that scream ( more like being obnoxious and loud lol ).5
