Works well for VR EXTENSION.Bought as an extension cable for VR headset. Works very well.5Just bought an Oculus Rift? These work!Works great for Oculus Rift.I bought 3, one for each of the front sensors, and one for the break-away cable for my headset.I did encounter random sensor issues as first.The 2 things that solved all my sensor problems:(1) I finally caved in and installed (upgraded?) to Windows 10. That cleared up most of my issues.(2) I purchased the Inateck Superspeed USB 3.0 card (I got the 7 port one but the others work too)I didn't think I'd need the card because I got 12 usb 3.0 ports, but after all was said and done, only 2 of those 12 seemed to get along with the Oculus. Half were controlled by VIA, which, evidently are garbage.5The only brand that works -- 6ft length, True USB 3.0 speedCable Matters seems to be the only brand that works. I've been buying a few different brands lately, trying them out. I'm surprised at so many dissappoints for something so simple as cable, ya? The others either drop signal, or don't deliver true 3.0 data transfer speeds, or the connected device is not recognized at all.The Cable Matters works nicely. I've also discovered that for my equipment (which is common stuff, all WD external drives and HP laptops) forget going longer than 6ft/2 meter extension. If your 9ft/3 meter is failing, scale it down a few feet. The USB 3.0 spec is 9 ft Max, so don't press it. Weird that the old 2.0 USB spec could be much longer without issues -- not so with 3.0. This I learned by much trial, error, and research.5Used for Oculus Rift CV1 SensorsThis cable was recommended on a VR website for expanding your Oculus Rift sensors - I purchased 2 cables and both worked perfectly. Quality is solid - Plug and Play - Happy Buyer! (note: If you bought new Rift S these extensions are not needed as the sensors are built into the headset)5Well worth the Quality and PriceSo, I was in a desperate need of a 3.0 "Female/Male" USB extension. Reason is I needed to A) Power my device and B) Transfer data at the 3.0 speed, which is (much faster than the 2.0) so having said that, this cable delivered A & B. I was really happy with the price as well, I mean wow I got it for less than $6, and believe me $6 in the 2014 means like $1 few years ago. So, I am happily satisfied and confident with "Cable Matters" products. They seem legit for its performance and capability to deliver.Keep in mind, the 10 feet one is equivalent to 3 meters for those who measure things in "meters" which kinda short. But, its the only approved length to a 3.0 USB extension. So be careful trying to buy longer as it may cause issues. Last note, you can use this for printers & Fax, Phone, Smart Tablet or any USB extension... This cable allows for much faster transfer speeds than when using a USB 2.0 cable.5Great Repeater Cable for Oculus Rift Sensors!I bought this cable to extend the reach of my Oculus Rift sensors, and it works great. This IS a repeater cable, so the 10-foot length will not affect the stability of your tracking. I use a 3 sensor setup with these on all 3 sensors and it works perfectly. The construction of the cable is high quality, and the bandwidth is enough to use USB 3.0 speeds with the sensors. I have also tried a few other computer peripherals with the cable, and they worked just as expected. I'd recommend this inexpensive 10-foot cable for pretty much any computer peripheral you need extended, but with the Summer of Rift 2017 sale going on, I'd highly recommend this if you need to extend your sensor cables.5Liking the extra length & performanceWe used this to give additional length to a USB corded mouse that runs from the desk to our IMac tower. There was some concern that performance would suffer but have found no evidence of that and have been using the extension for over a month. The material appears nondescript and typical of almost any mass produced items these days but through consistent use it has performed perfectly.5Works with Oculus Rift STested with 3 weeks of playing and this cable works very solidly with Oculus Rift S as an extension. Your mileage may vary, because not everyone reports that those recommended DP and USB cables work. For me they both do work really well. I didn't even try another Rankie 6-feet one that's also recommended, as both 10-feet DP and USB cables work for me, allowing to move VR to another room (different from where the computer is) where there is plenty of space for room-scale VR.5Works fine.Not much else to say.5
