Not the prettiest arrangementMany of the lower end desktop/tabletop radios get unimpressive reviews, so the slightly superior reviews for this one drew me to it. If it hadn't been for having to set aside extra time to "play" with the unit in order acquaint myself with what the manual was attempting to convey, I would have been more satisfied. Aesthetically, I think it sacrificed too much in making it convenient to plug in all the speaker wires/accessories from the front and sides rather from the rear. They thoughtfully don't depict the "spaghetti" in the marketing photo. Still, a good unit for the basics.4Boy Oh BoytoneThere aren't many computer speaker systems on the market, as far as I know, where blue tooth technology, an FM radio, USB/Micro SD slots and RCA audio input jacks are incorporated right into the sub-woofer; allowing you to play music almost anywhere without any other additional equipment or necessary hook ups. With this being said, these were features that attracted me to purchase the BT-210F model.I have never heard of Boytone before. It seems like a relatively new brand and there are not many reviews out there regarding the products that they are currently selling. My purchase was made with some trepidation.Overall, the unit is really nice looking. The pictures shown for the product give the impression that this set up is much bigger than it really is. The only thing that is "big" would be the sound. This unit can get pretty loud, especially with the sub-woofer.I would have given this review five stars if not, for what some people will find, quite annoying. Surprisingly, no one else who has already purchased this model has even mentioned what I am about to describe.......Each SOURCE volume for "AUX, DVD, USB/SD, FM, BL (Bluetooth)" has a preset volume. When you first turn the unit on and scroll to AUX, the volume is preset at AU18. When you scroll to DVD, the preset volume is DU18 and so on.Now I am not sure why Boytone decided to design the unit to perform like this but it is somewhat of an inconvenience.Example scenario. If you are on AUX first, the master volume defaults at AU18. That is a pretty high setting for starts, especially if you do not first adjust the volume of the computer or other device you are using the speakers for prior to powering up the sub-woofer. If you do re-adjust the AUX volume to, let's say, AU10 and then scroll to the next source which is DVD, the changes you made for the AUX settings are lost and will default back to the original factory setting of AU18 when you go back to it again.Also, the bass settings seem to change when you adjust the volume for whatever SOURCE setting you have it on. Very strange.There seems to be no way of saving your settings or any changes you make to not only the volume for each SOURCE but the over all bass and treble settings as well.The FM radio is a nice feature. You can program a number of stations and access them direct with the remote. Once programmed you might want to write down which preset corresponds to the station you want to access.The USB slot is cool but only drawback with playing MP3's through a USB us that they either play alphabetically depending on the folder title they they might be stored under or play numerically by track number if not in a master folder. There is nothing on the display to identify song title, artist, etc.The unit does have a STAND BY feature which allows you to keep the unit on without have to constantly shut it on and off. However, if you do not want to use the STAND BY feature, I would highly recommend powering off the unit in AUX mode and adjust your settings to 00 before shutting down the sub-woofer. This way you won't accidentally blow your speakers or get a loud "pop".I am still playing around with the unit. I might send Boytone an e-mail to see if there is any way to save the settings you make without them defaulting back each time you change the SOURCE you want to use.3Boytone Bluetooth speakersOverall, these speakers are very good quality; I really like how the base is adjustable via the remote or buttons on the sub...I didn't have that feature with my old speakers. So far, the Bluetooth has worked great; I think it disconnected once but then it quickly reconnected and it has been smooth sailing since.I really wish Boytone would have thought of the volume more carefully with the radio; as other people have posted, its really annoying to change the source on the speakers to the radio and then have the music blaring out at you at volume 18; it's a slow change if you want to then switch it to the next source, but this problem is minor in my case as I bought the system mainly for Bluetooth through my phone, not for the radio (although the radio is a nice addition).Another thing I would add is that the remote can be funky sometimes; for instance, if there's a song playing and I press pause on the remote, sometimes it will pause the song for a few seconds and then continue playing instead of keeping the song paused, which I think is queer. Other than that, this system is nice. I REALLY like having the remote handy for volume and tone changes, it's very convenient.4Almost perfect.After using this product for almost a month I consider it a great product, almost perfect.Great sound and features.I would only wish for four more features and solving one problem to call it perfect.Features:1. AM reception2. Wi fi internet reception3. Normalize sound volume with EBU R-128 method and use volume control to set normalization levels from all sources leaving the volume as set after unit is turned back on.4. Control by z-wave home automation systems.However, lack of these features does not detract from its value for the price for which it is sold. Its a great value.Problem: Unit often does not respond to either remote or "on set" buttons on first press but usually requires pressing several times to get a response. This can be aggravating.Other than this problem, I would easily give it five stars.4Good over allWhen I first went looking for a small desktop Bluetooth speaker system I came across this one, people gave it great reviews for being so small so I made with the purchase,when I received it I inspected the whole thing, I found a minor problem,one of the buttons was smashed into the unit for the power button/station button for radio,but everything else worked and I was impressed with the sound for the bones I shelled out,customer service rep may seem a little edgy but they did what I asked and shipped me a new one and I love it. It's funny the price was crossed out and a significantly lower price was advertised,..it's worth the lower price value,just not what they had crossed out at the top.5Get themGreat speakers for the money. The only reason I dont give it a 5 star review is because sometimes the remote gets a little crazy for example when I try to turn it up, it will actually turn it down or even turn off lol. Again for the price its great, the sound quality is surprisingly good as well as the bass. I actually have mine set up as my "theater system" since I live in an apartment, thankfully my neighbors are friends of mine and they tell me at times they can hear it lol of course thats when i have it pretty much to its max. Overall I love them I would give it 4.5 stars if I could.Update when i got these speakers they were only 64.99 with prime. I wouldnt get this model for anything more then that.4Sound quality was a MUST have to be able to be one of the best DJ's around for such a long stretchI am obsessed with sound quality, probably because I was a top DJ full-time for eleven years in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I was skeptical to buy these for my Ma, however to my delightful surprise this medium/smaller system delivers clean quality sound with plenty of bass even at a high volume level. The price is ridiculously cheap and fair....My Ma loves her new sound..."Thank You"5They are some good speakers.These are good speakers. The sound is great.This would have gotten five stars but there are some cons.1. this maybe a Personal preference but the volume wheel and the operating buttons are on the sub-woofer and the Sub-woofer is just to big to have on your desk where the controls are in reaching distance. Good thing it comes with a remote which is a plus.2. The Bluetooth adapter in the Speaker has trouble connecting to almost anything. I have tried multiple devices from my Cell phone, my laptop with built in Bluetooth, to a USB Bluetooth Dongle i bought for my PC to give it Bluetooth capability to connect with this speaker. But when it did connect the sound production was great. I currently have Aux connected to the PC and sound is just as good when it was connected to Bluetooth.3. I heard this one i have seen before in some reviews and when you switch between the connection option (Bluetooth, Aux, ETC.) the volume defaults to 18. These are Loud speakers. I Normally have the volume at 4, the highest 6. I use with my office PC and sometimes have it at 6 or 5 is way too loud. Plus when you switch Bluetooth and it connects if you are not quick to lower the volume before the Ping sound it makes letting you know it has connected that ping is almost ear splitting.All around some good Speakers. But like everything in this nothing is perfect. i do like these speakers.4For the price I won t complainSmall enough to fit into my design. Sound is great, clear and not scratchy at all! Bluetooth is 1 connection at a time only, unable to program multiple devices unless the 1 person has disconnected from the Bluetooth. Inputs are easily accessible. Remote is only good for power and volume, I have attempted the programming of it multiple times and just gave up. Speaker wires are short, you could easily splice more in if you wanted to.4Great Sound for the MoneyI buy audio systems by spec and I had never heard of Boytone. I'm an old school audiophile and I have a set of Klipsch V4.2 PC speakers. I was looking for something decent for another application. For the money these speakers are VERY decent. The 6.5" ported subwoofer is a good design and overall sound quality is excellent for the price. The visual design is also very nice. One selling feature for me was that they are compatible with practically all current media, FM, USB, bluetooth, RCA, SD. I compared the Boytone system to the big boys (Creative, Logitech, etc.) and nothing came close. Now for the small number of cons. When you switch sources the volume goes to 18 which is rather loud. Also the display is a bit cryptic. The system does not always respond to the remote on the first button press. But other than these relatively minor issues I have no complaints. I would rate them 4.5 if I could but for the price I will give them a solid 5!5
