    Not bad This is cool, the plastic "pages" won't fool anyone, but if it is in a shelf with a bunch of other books, the hardback covering looks like a real book, and what thief is going to check all your books. Unless he googled "book safes" and saw a million pictures for "The New English Dictionary."Basically it is a nice steel lockbox that happens to be disguised as a book. Useful for safekeeping things, but I wouldn't necessarily count on it to fool a professional for the above reason... 4Perfect for hiding small things The cover is a little flimsy and the "pages" do indeed look fake. However, I solved these problems by putting a different book cover on it, and also keeping it in a drawer. I put a few smaller books on top of it, and it just looks like some books in a drawer. The key is easy to use, and the lock box feels secure for things you don't want others to find. Would I trust my life savings in it? No, of course not. But it keeps my personal items hidden with two forms of security. 4Not great but not bad The metal container and latch seem well constructed enough to keep curious hands out but won't withstand a determined effort with some tools. The cover is good enough to pass a cursory review, particularly if it's on a shelf, spine out. Under handling the molded plastic fake pages will immediately give it away. I will say that the binding is just glued to the cover and can come unstuck if you leave the book open for a while.This is perfectly fine as long as you're not expecting it to have:1) A cover from a real book2) Actual paper pages that have been glued and hollowed out3) A lock box that can repel a serious assaultBottom line: You can get better but it will cost at least twice as much for the extra materials required. 4Nice, Solid, Credible Disguise This is a solid metal box disguised to look like a book. When you open up the metal cover there is a metal door with a lock. You can put smallish items in there like jewelry or some cash (the space internally is maybe 4"x6"), then place it among books on a bookcase. Note: if you look at it super closely you will see it is not a book. I wouldn't leave this on display on its own and hope to fool people. But I own a lot of books and someone would have to carefully exam my book collection for this book to stand out amidst my other hard covers. I like this, and I would buy another one. I just wish they had more covers - I can't really credibly have multiple dictionaries on the same bookshelf. 5looks real, but falls apart The corners were crushed in a bit and the cover keeps falling off of the metal lock box inside. Its only held on, on the binding, with 3m like foam tape. Every other time i open it, the bindng pulls away from the box. The lock works well, the keys go in and turn smoothly. It looks like an actual book on the shelf, i just wish it were fastened together a little better 3Great basic safe. A great safe, and looks very realistic.It would blend seamlessly in your bookcase.Great for keeping small belongings, cash, and any other smaller private belongings in. Comes with 2 keys, so you have a backup.This is the "large" version of this, but keep in mind that certain things can't be too high or else it won't lock.You also have to be careful that nothing is stuck under the lock area where the lock turns to close.All in all, I love this safe and really appreciate the realistic look of it.I wouldn't recommend keeping anything in here that has a "smell", because it's not like an air-tight lock or anything. 5The lock works well and the metal case is sturdy. The cover design which is meant to look textured, but is a flat coating, appears a little shiny in bright light, but it's fine amongst the other books. If someone were to take it off the shelf it would be obvious that it's fake, but that's not likely to happen in the event of a break-in. This would also work well to keep small items and paperwork away from prying eyes. If you live with someone who likes to snoop, they won't be able to access the contents of the safe without the keys. There may be more realistic looking diversion safes out there, but for the price and functionality, this is worth it. 5Looks real, but... Good place to put some things I prefer to keep in private. I'm not sure if a theif would be fooled by it, as I see a lot of these kinds of things advertised and I assume theifs do too. Most of my secret stuff is in the form of flash drives and extra car keys. I don't think I would put something in there that has a lot of monetary value. The lock works good and it indeed does look like a regular book, but like I say I'm not sure it would fool a good theif. It is not fire or water proof. Just a good place to keep something from sitting out waiting to be stolen. 5This book safe is smaller than advertised I just want to let you know that I ordered the large brown book safe, and it is smaller than advertised. The product description says the dimensions are 11 x 4 x 8 inches. I received the book safe and the exterior dimensions are 10 3/8 x 2 1/2 x 7 3/4. I thought it would be 4 inches thick but it's only 2.5 inches thick. I thought maybe they sent me the small or medium version, but no, the sticker on the shrinkwrap says "Large".Besides that, it seems to work fine, so I guess I'll keep it. 2Great for a firearm. To anyone else like me who is thinking about this to hide a firearm in. I can store a glock 19 with an extra magazine no problem. Anything too much larger than that will be cutting it close, but the G19 fits just fine.It does lock and looks as real as could be expected, put it in a stack of books and good luck finding it unless they know what to look for. 5
