Bifold doors are unique to hang and not difficult if you READ THE DIRECTIONS. I have hung many of these with good results. Big box can t come close for ease of order, quality and timely delivery. Plantation style is a visual step-up from the stocked items of big box world. Solid packaging perfectly delivered to our rural job site . 5I love the "plantation style" half-louver doors--very southern Just what I needed. I love the "plantation style" half-louver doors--very southern. First had them stained, and of course, being pine, they looked horrible. So I had them painted French Quarter Green and added green doorknobs. What a transformation. They met my needs so perfectly, I ordered two more bi-folds.Craig Bennett Hallenstein is author of the new psychological thriller The Dolphin. 5Very nice doors, but low quality mounting hardware Very nice looking wood with good grain. Recommend a light sanding before staining or painting. I didn't, but kind of wish II had. there were little splinters of wood here and there that stuck out like little hairs once painted. Also, I recommend using a paint sprayer if painting. I hand-painted them; they turned out nice, but took a very long frustrating time. Grain shows through the pain nicely and makes them look very nice.Only bad thing I can say about them is the hardware that's included. The rails are flimsy and the dowels are plastic. The guide is also plastic, whereas better quality systems have a wheel. I put a thin layer of Vaseline in the track and it smoothed out the operation considerably, but I suspect they won't last and I will have to buy a better kit later. 4Good affordable bifold closet doors The bifold doors were delivered quickly and without damage. The door kit was complete and had nice hardware. Installation was straight forward and fairly simple. My only complaint was the finish of the doors and one was smaller at the top than theBottom which made it difficult to get a nice fit in the opening. The doors had mill marks that needed to be sanded out before painting andSome were pretty deep. Also this door is advertised as solid wood, which it is, but the styles and rails are laminated with a thin veneer. It is solid,But maybe a little misleading. 3Nice pine door. These doors look good. Being pine they nick or dent easily and are of moderate quality with a few tooling marks on the closet side. These doors are designed to be shortened by up to 1-1/2 inches with a circular saw and are not designed to be narrowed. The two edge rails are made of composite plywood to stop the door from warping after installation. I had a narrow closet opening to fit, I popped of the hinges and took an 1/8 inch off each hinge rail. I would not recommend trying to narrow this door unless you own a table saw, a belt sander, a router and are extremely handy. I posted a picture of the cross section of the composite edge, as one can see there is very little than can be removed from the side rails without compromising the structural integrity of this door. 4Very good quality! Very simple to install my 14 year ... Very good quality! Very simple to install my 14 year old decided he wanted to put the door up and he did .. Very sturdy! And can easily be painted to liking. 5Doors are not meant for heavy use. The doors look pretty. Installation was easy for my handyman. However, to me they feel flimsy. They re light and sort of wopsy. I should have spent more money. I ll wait a year and get more substantial doors. If you added a set of hinges you could make a pretty screen. That s what I m going to do in a year. 3Open when you get it The door arrived on time, but I didn't open the box until several weeks later. My contractor opened the box and threw it away. When he got ready to paint it, he noticed a crack in the bottom half of the door. The box was gone. He patched thecrack and hung the door. Hard to say who or what is responsible for the crack-- the manufacturer, the warehouse, or the shipper. In any case, the product was less than satisfactory. 2Beautiful doors Beautiful wood door panels. A little tough getting doors lined up but a good fit for the opening. Haven't stained them yet waiting on the cooler weather to come...too humid right now here in FL. I bought two for application shown in the photo and I'm having trouble with one side not wanting to stay closed on its own...works fine when both doors closed but the one side won't stay in the closed position without the other one closed also. Guess I can live with that but hopefully I can get it adjusted out when I pull them off to stain them. 4
