Yes it's nice brass, but the way this attaches is not well thought out. Also, it's wide. If you have sidelights, you may need to carve the shape out of your molding to attach to a surface you can drill through. Looks pretty, doesn't install pretty. 4Beautiful!If you're looking for a traditional well crafted doorbell this is the one for you. One beautiful piece with hidden screws under the case for a seamless look. Baldwin Brass at it's best. 5I hate the noshow screw designYeah, I just realized that the product dimension is not the same as "size". I saw 1.3 inches and it really is about 1 3/4 wide. Luckily, I was able to chisel out the form in the door molding.Personally, I hate the noshow screw design. It requires you to push the plate onto the mount, then push the button onto the plate OR put it all together and push the whole thing on the mount. Either means you have to have a fair amount of play in the wires and the wires be somewhat pliable. Mine were 14g solid wires in the door jamb, that were nubbed to the limit. So I had to carve out a bigger opening and attach longer wire with a crimp blade on the end.If the cover went OVER the button, that would work way better because you could attach the button in place, then put on the cover. That way the wire would not need so much play.The old button we had was the same design, just smaller, so I think they all attach about the same way. 4Looks and works great!
