Customer Reviews

way too big for a smaller womani've been trying to find a woodworking apron. i'm 5'6", 125 lbs. this was one of the smaller looking aprons i could find and i'm swimming in it.if you're larger i'd prolly be fine. the neck strap is a little weird; i was expecting more a straight-around-the-neck sort of strap. this has a neck strap that connects to another strap in the back that goes down to the waist. had a hard time trying to figure out how to get 1 arm in, get it over my head, then attach the back strap around the waist.plenty of pockets for smaller tools like a chisel, screwdrivers, screws, tape, pencil, etc.i'll keep looking...3You can't have too many pockets! This apron is well made, comfortable, and most importantly (for me) fits those of us with - shall we say - generous proportions. I use it for cleaning tools to hurry along my domestic goddess tasks - it helps to have everything with you, and waist aprons don't work for me as I don't have one. Waist.I like to keep the apron stocked and ready to go (anything to shorten domestic goddess time), and so I could easily see using one of these for gardening, another for - fill in task of choice that requires keeping many tools handy. It's a great product for a reasonable price.5DurableI've had this model before, as well as the 'almost the same' Bucket Boss. I think the Dickeys is in the same league (probably all made by the same OEM; pick your option). For the price, buy it. Nothing else that distributes weight well that's cheaper. Reasonably durable. The Bucket Boss has slightly different shoulder straps with sliding pads. I went to the Bucket Boss after wearing out my first Arsenal. I didn't really notice the difference, but I don't carry a heavy load.I bought this one to experiment with sewing the torso up so the pouches are above my waste line. I get frustrated when things fall out due to squatting/kneeling and the pockets are horizontal. I have my old one to experiment with -- this one would be sewn better as the old one is torn/worn. Not a durability statement -- you only wear out something because it's junk or because you use it. I use this one.I added wrap/velcro magnetic pads to the shoulder straps from Atlas 46. Like the Atlas, wallet hasn't taken me there yet (at some point of experimenting with a shorter torso, that will happen). Also, added a magnet to the inside of the larger upper pocket. Works well for holding hardware while installing/assembling.I do not find this makes much temperature difference.I use a cheap fake carabiner (the key chain style) to hold the area where the waist and the Y strap meet to a belt loop when I will be wearing it awhile. That keeps it from drooping. Not a unique problem to this. I wear suspenders with carpenter bags too.4with broken hips from hauling god knows how much crap in the old oxy beltBeing a reformed framer, with broken hips from hauling god knows how much crap in the old oxy belt, even with suspenders, i cringe at the thought of the burden. These aprons are wonderful, Duluth used to make a great one, and i had a seamstress make a few custom numbers, but for the price this is the s$%t. Put a 30' tape in the front, 3" screws in the left, 1 5/8" behind, gun nails in right, throw a pair of dykes in, a nailset, hammer in left loop, utility knife in right pocket, square in back pocket-perfection! Never wear the big bags again! Freedom!5Helps stay organizedAs an experienced amateur furniture maker in my mid sixties, it suddenly dawned on me that I spend an inordinate amount of time searching for my tape measure, machinists square and pencil. I tried placing a half dozen pencils and tape measures around my shop, but they still seem to disappear, only to be found during end of project housekeeping. I tried a regular leather tool pouch on a belt, but found it to be very uncomfortable, so thought I would give one of these a try. At only $20.00, what could I lose. I am elated to say that It works perfectly. pencils go in the slots in the chest area and my tape and square go in the pockets above the navel. The back support eliminates neck strain, and is relatively easy to hook up. (I weight 240 lbs and was elated to find that it fits my ample waist and chest without any problem!) The apron does not hang low, so it does not get in the way when kneeling on the floor or bending over to pick up something I dropped. It also serves as a handy place to wipe the glue from my fingers, as opposed absent mindedly wiping them on the side of my pants - which can be somewhat of a problem when I head out to the shop in my street clothes! While the nylon material is durable, it is not so thick as to interfere with movement in any way. Slipping this apron on has quickly become part of my daily shop routine.4Quality of Life CommodityI have had this apron for years now and have used it infrequently but enough to the point where I feel I am ready to review this properly, now i have used this apron for various projects at and away from home, and the apron has held up and looks and works just the same as I bought it , I have myself moved and help my friends move houses with this and have used this apron to lug around packing supplies ( tape gun , sharpie , box cutter) to woodworking projects, to paracord projects as well. In all circumstances i have used this apron in i have greatly appreciated having it, and you dear reader will too.5Great tool belt I LOVE this tool belt. I use it for metal detecting. I have plenty of room to put my tools and some finds in there. It's inexpensive but perfect for what I was looking for. I'm a smaller size, but I cinched up the waist and was fine. I cut off the leftover belt material. 5It punctures easily I am journeyman electrician and really love this front style pouches vs wearing the bulky tool belt systems. I usually purchase the bucketboss series pouch but wanted to give this a try. After about 3 months of carrying my needle nose, lineman pliers, dykes, screwdrivers, etc. the seams at the bottom just give out not allowing you to hold anything. I love the design of these front pouches but every few months they just blow out. I would gladly pay more money if they could reinforce the bottoms of the pockets with a heavy duty non puncturable canvas or even plastic. 2Arsenal 5706 versus Bucket Boss 80100 Work ApronsI purchased both the Arsenal and Bucket Boss work aprons and did a side-by-side comparison. Conclusion: Arsenal 5706 is slightly more expensive but is of significantly better quality and is likely to last longer than Bucket Boss 80100. I'm keeping the Arsenal 5706 and returning the Bucket Boss 80100. In the photos, Bucket Boss is above and Arsenal is below.Overall Dimensions: Similar size. Arsenal is taller, Bucket Boss is 1 wider.Fabric: Arsenal fabric has a tighter weave with 23 ribs/inch vs. Bucket Boss 19 ribs/inch. This difference is significant --- the Arsenal fabric feels stronger than the Bucket Boss fabric.Stitching: Arsenal stitching is stronger with 6 stitches/inch vs. Bucket Boss 5 stitches/inch. Arsenal has all the edges finished whereas Bucket Boss has some exposed edges (see photos).Reflective Trim: Arsenal - yes, Bucket Boss - no.Belt: Arsenal has thicker/stronger webbing but is 1 shorter than Bucket Boss.Buckle: Arsenal buckle is slightly stronger because it has an interior plate for stability.Main Pockets: The Arsenal and Bucket Boss 3 large lower pockets are identical in width and depth. Arsenal s 2 large upper pockets are 6 deep while Bucket Boss 2 large upper pockets are 7 1/4 deep.Center Upper Pencil/Screwdriver Pockets: Arsenal has one medium pocket and two small pockets, all with a depth of 6 . Bucket Boss has 4 small pockets with bottom stitching that reduces their depth to about 4 .Side Pockets: Arsenal side pockets are 2 wide and the lower side pocket is 5 deep. Bucket Boss side pockets are 3 wide and are bottom stitched to reduce the lower side pocket depth to 4 . One Arsenal side pocket has a bottom slit to accommodate a T-square or ruler whereas all Bucket Boss side pockets are closed on the bottom.Hammer Loops: Identical in size, but the Arsenal loops are made of stiffer/stronger webbing.Price: Arsenal costs about $2.50 more than Bucket Boss on Amazon.5Will buy as long as it's available I went through several brands of aprons until I found this one. I use it for work and the other ones I tried didn't stand up to this one. I got the torso length which is perfect for me. My work is a dirty job, I need several pockets to house the tools I need and this is perfect. With the type of work I do, it lasts me around a year or just over. When this one gets holes like my last one, I will buy another. 5only because the one i had is dirty, very dirtyI am a union sheet metal worker. i use this product 6 days a week. it has stood up to a lot of abuse. its being 6 months and i think i might buy a new one. only because the one i had is dirty, very dirty. the plastic clip still has not broken. i regular take it off/on, when i do take it off i throw it one the floor (sometime from and top of a ladder, with the pouch full of nut, blots, zip screws, vise grips, drift pen, hammer, screwdriver, sockets bits) and still stands up to the test. if you do use this as a screw pouch the second back pouch is useless. the hammer loop hold drills like a champ ( no rips or tears) but not so great for releasing hammers back to you, you will need two hands for that task. overall best product i have use bags-wise5Perfect work apronPerfect work apron, I tried it out and I wish I had these earlier. The pockets are perfect for rags and bottles and it is very comfortable. The material is durable and seems like it will last a while. I Highly recommend it.5Ergodyne Arsenal 5707 Tool Work Waist Apron, 14-Pockets, GrayGood day ! A very handy thing ! Works especially well when you don't want to use a carpenter's belt with bags..... Pockets roomy enough, but I would like to loop the hammer were more pronounced, stick the hammer back is very problematic... But in this case - this is not the biggest drawback........ I use it when assembling an electric Cabinet, everything is at hand. Stitched very tight.... You can, by the way , put it on a bucket of putty or paint, which has a stiffener and it will serve as an organizer. A decent purchase for little money. Good luck!5Tough, durable, a must have in the shop I bought this to use while blacksmithing, as both a protective item and a way to keep my hands on small items I needed close by. I was specifically looking for one that had the middle-of-the-back strap instead of the standard over-the-neck strap, as those grow tiresome really quickly, especially if the apron is weighted down with much of anything. This apron is PERFECT. I read some reviews saying they found it too short, but on me (5'6") it sits perfectly about mid to high thigh. It is lightweight but extremely durable/tough material. The waist strap is plenty big, I keep it connected and just swing the entire apron on from overhead. This is a definite keeper - IF it ever fails, which I honestly can't even imagine where it would (unless I burn it up while forging) I will replace it with the same immediately. 5
