Customer Reviews

Great small tool box. Stacks and nests nicely. This is my 4th Akro 09912 small tool box. They change the color every six months or so, so if you don't like today's color come back in a while. Boxes nest well and four of them fit snugly in the vertical file drawer of my desk (removing the rails). Great place to store small tools. I've got one for glues (CA, hot melt, etc), one for soldering tools and supplies, one for tweezers and small pliers, and one for X-acto knives. Plenty of room.5Great Case for Everything. Purchased this art bin for another purpose. We had a twins birthday party to go to and we were expected to bring a gift to each little boy (twins) so we got little Pok mon figureines and filled this with candy and pokemon figureines. The little boy was excited to get his gift. We also go them a slip and slide. Great ideas for 9 year old boys. We chose this bin over others just because this was more space conscious, easy to toke, and affordable. 5Cheap, small and they work great to help keep me organized!Cheap, small and they work great to help keep me organized!I throw some black tape on the front of the box and then write what I am keeping inside and that has worked great so far!5Found something better for less money Edit:Today I went to Target and found a 12.5 inch stanley toolbox with a removable tray and some small compartments in the lid for less than this box. The toolbox is also deeper and will hold more items in addition to the added organization in the lid and the inner tray. I would suggest looking for small toolboxes in your local big box store or hardware store if you need something similar to this. You will probably get more bang for your buck. The one thing this little toolbox has on the Stanley toolbox is that it is made in the U.S.A. The Stanley toolbox says it is made in Israel.I'm keeping this box, as it would be a hassle to return it, but will probably now use it for storing my current cross stitch project instead of my art pencils.Original:I have just got back into art after a long hiatus and needed a simple case for my small but growing collection of pens/pencils/etc. This one holds just about everything (I have a watercolor palette that won't fit but it just sits on top of the case on my desk). I have two bundles of pencils and pens in the bottom wrapped with a rubber band, two tins of pencils/watercolor crayons stack on top of those. Some erasers, water brushes, and a sharpener then fit in the leftover horizontal space. On top of all of that I have a box of oil pastels. With that, it is completely filled up and so if I get anything else before using these up I will require an upgrade to something with more room and organization options. So, if you don't have much or if you are wanting to separate your supplies into multiple separate cases, these will do the trick. The latch closes firmly but I honestly wouldn't want to carry it around for a long time or travel with it. It is good for storing things in one place, which is the purpose I had in mind when I bought it. 2Tool BoxI got these for my 6 and almost three year old grand kids to store their art materials. Be cause they are kids they are a bit rough and honestly They could have been bigger and they would still not have quite enough room LOL. So what I am saying is that even crammed with stickers and paper hanging over the edge that lock didn't break. It simply did not engage until the wad blocking it was shoved further in. The lock is easy enough for them to used and sturdy enough to hold it closed well. Now I have only had the 2-3 months so I may have a complaint later because I do expect at least a year on something like this and really longer. But I have high hopes based on performance5Attractive, useful boxIt s a nice little box for a pretty good price. I use it to carry around small knitting projects like socks and scarves. It s cute! It would be good for nail polish, prescription medicine in small bottles, small office supplies like binder clips and staples. It is about the size of a small loaf of bread but remember there is a tray on top which takes up some of the space. I think it s a handy size but it isn t for full sized bottles of lotion or nail polish remover. I plan to buy at least one more.5nice little storage box I bought this to store all my spare carbon fiber propellers for my radio controlled planes/drones and works well for that. The lid snaps tightly in place. You have to be sure it's lined up properly, but once that's done, it closes securely. I will be buying more for my GrandDaughter to keep her crayons/markers in and other things. 5A box for your stuffThis little craft-size case is a nice home for my padlock collection. I have acquired some antique padlocks, and this plastic box is good for keeping them togehter and carrying them around. Don't be fooled into thinkingthat this is a tight-sealing box that will keep your mangoes from rotting and stinking up the kitchen. This is a semi-transparent plastic box in the shape of a very small toolbox. THe handle is pretty strong, nad the box is able to support a decent amount of weight (I can't imagine anyone putting a heavier bunch of stuff in the box than the locks I have in it). The closure is a plastic snap-down type of thing, which is fine, but not super secure. It hasn't opened when I move it, but if you plan on using this on a daily basis, you may want to invest in something a little more substantial. For occasional use (like storing spare parts or a collection or crafting stuff) this is a good buy, but for more frequesnt use it is a little bit lacking.4Handy, but not heavy duty. I like the size of this storage box. It fit neatly into my backpack and school locker.Sadly, it failed to survive a 3-ft. drop from my hand to the cement floor in the auditorium. It landed on its corner, which shattered. 2Bought this as a toy tool chest for a 3 ...Bought this as a toy tool chest for a 3 year old's plastic tools.Still holding up a year later.Update - almost 2 years later, the 3 year old is now five. His "tools" are more sophisticated now and he still lugs them around in this very sturdy box.4Nice and sturdy translucent box Nice and sturdy translucent box, I liked it so much that bought a second one right away, one carries my soldering stuff and another other small tools. I also have a red box from Akro-Mils, probably 20-something years old edition, still strong, for yet more small tools:) - like to stack them up on the shelf. I have read recent reviews before buying, some complained about latch, I did not encounter any problem with my both boxes , just snap them on well. 5Organizes My WorkbenchBought this to throw my screw driver set and frequently used pliers into to keep on my work bench in the garage. If I leave them out on the bench they meet one of several fates: They get covered in pet hair (because my cat has to sit on my work bench in the garage), they get covered in spider webs (because come fall every spider within a 10 mile radius thinks my garage is the only warm spot on the planet) or they get covered in dust (thanks to living on a dirt road). Popping my drivers and pliers in this little box keeps them free of dust, cat hair and web-spinning critters. The small size holds six pairs of various needle nose pliers and a full set of 8 various size screwdrivers easily (none of which are over 12" long obviously) with enough extra room to root through them and find what you want. It wouldn't hold a lot weight-wise but it's rectangular form fits nicely on the 6" wide shelf right above the bench. It snaps tightly shut and didn't spring open on the occasion I dropped it. It wipes easily clean of all the aforementioned dust, etc. The plastic is rugged enough for my use--it doesn't "feel" cheap as some types of these containers feel. If you want a nice, small storage box, then this may fill the bill.4Wonderful Just as described and comes quickly! I use it to hold the tools I need for the project I m working on. It s an excellent little tool box and isn t heavy at all. 5Good qualityPurchased with Black and Decker toy tool sets and all the pieces fit inside. Easy to open, but stays securely closed while my 2 year old grandson carries it around. I recommend getting this if you get a toy tool set5Low quality hingeUnlike most of the other Akro Mils products, the hinge on this is cast in place and very thin. Not what I expected and definitely not going to last long.3Cute for toy toolsCute little toy box for my 2.5 year old son to put his tools in. Doesn t hold very much. Would not recommend it for actual tools. The latch isn t the best. But works for what I purchased it for!4Not the best quality... This is ok, it is not the thickest plastic, but it holds a fair amount of items. I think I could have found it cheaper somewhere else. I would not purchase again. 3
