Customer Reviews

Great film, great price!!!! I have used this film in the past and didn't think that I would ever find it again, but I am very happy that I have found it as it is a wonderful product and is great for taking pictures in a lot of different lighting situations. The four pack of film is more economical than buying four single roll packs, so it saves you money and those of us that are on fixed incomes can really appreciate that. 5Film looks better, in my opinion. Excellent film and an excellent value. I've returned to film after shooting digital for over 14 years. Digital just can't give me the look I want and much prefer shooting color and B&W film. All of the pre-sets and filters just don't cut it, in my opinion. I own two good digital cameras but I own five 35mm film cameras and 5 medium format film cameras and with a negative that is 4 to 5 times larger than a full-frame digital, why bother with the digicams? Today, you can develop your own film and don't need a darkroom. I shoot, develop and scan my negatives and I love the results that I get. Film cameras don't become obsolete in a few years and are built to last several lifetimes, while my digital cameras are worth 1/2 what I paid for them in a couple of years. 4Realistic Colors I have been shooting color film for about 50 years and have always trusted Kodak to give me realistic colors. I have many very nice film cameras as well as digital cameras, and like the way film has a broader dynamic range than my digital cameras. Living in Vermont I do a lot of scenic photos and pretty much want what I see. Also, with the added expense of processing, I do not like to spend $12 for a roll of film. Granted getting a competent film processor is important for a great photo. 5Wife is happy! My wife found her old SLR camera from the 90's and really wanted to take some photos for nostalgia and fun, so I ordered her this film. The film came well packaged, and does not expire until 8/2020. I would recommend getting a a film sighing tool to pull out the film tab from the canister is you only use half the roll, then swap out to black and white, I used to work in a photo lab in the late 90's, and totally forgot that when you rewind the film to use again later is swapping out film types, the end gets pulled into the canister, and you have to fish it out with this little plastic tool they make. 5GREAT For Low-Light Conditions. With this film in a 39-year-old Olympus OM-1 camera, I was able to take (forbidden) pictures in the darkened Hayden Planetarium.Used this same Kodak 400 film to shoot the Statue of Liberty from the South Tower before 9/11.The perfect film for low-light conditions, and handles daylight very well, too. 5UPDATE: Missing one roll of film LIFE DEALS quickly responded to my email about missing my roll and dealt with the matter. I do wish I had the roll since I love this film, but I am okay with the way the company dealt with the error.Original review:I ordered a pack of 4 Kodak Ultramax 400 speed 35mm 36 exposure film but I only received 3 packs. I was pleased with the delivery time but I really need the other roll that I purchased. 3Solid film! I really like this film. It gives a bit of an old time look to the pictures. Definitely make sure it fits your intended use, but I feel like when I do outdoor photography it almost gives an old west feel to the pictures. Goes great in my Pentax MX. I don't love it for indoor stuff, at that point I bump up to the 800, but this is great for outdoor photography if you're going for a more vintage feel. Also, when I'm doing outdoor stuff focused on animals I do the 800. The 400 is great for landscape. 4I like this as a consumer grade film A decent film with a slightly noticeable grain. Colors are decent but not the most saturated overall. I prefer Colorplus 200 for that. At times, some photos can look highly saturated, clear, almost digital. The grain in those moments are very beautiful. Bad for night photography. Best for sunny weather and very soft looking in bright overcast. A forgiving film in overexposure but not for underexposure. Therefore please rate this at iso200, and expose for shadows. If you are in the shade you may consider overexposing by one more stop (increase that aperture), trust me it really holds up well. Great for beginners. The way I see this film is it is great for family events and moments, the way that Kodak gold used to be. 5Colorful as EVER! After realizing the film I ordered for an event would not arrive in time, I decided to purchase this film and hope for the best. It arrived the day before I needed it. (Yay for Prime!)I've been very impressed by many other Kodak films, but I had never used this particular one. For background, I've been shooting 35mm film for nearly 7 years and have a good understanding of the range of films available.WOW this film is colorful! It was perfect for capturing this already saturated set. There is obvious grain, but it's not overwhelming, and I actually like the vintage aesthetic it lends the photos. It's what you'd expect from 400 ISO film. The price is great as well.I'm happy I bought this film in a pinch, and I plan to use quite frequently from now on! 5Very good quality film and hard to find in my area Came in 4 separate boxes instead of one as pictured but that doesn't matter to me they come right out of the boxes into the camera bag anyway. Very good quality film and hard to find in my area. I photograph motorsports events and it has a high enough speed for that and excellent clarity. 5
