Customer Reviews

Great price for quality We go these for my husband after he got safety glass in his eye (he is an auto glass installer). They protect his eyes and honestly they aren't ugly. One day he came in wearing them and I swore they were oakleys! Lol the little label on the side totally looks like their "o". 5Great Glasses! I bought these to use as sunglasses. I am pretty rough on sunglasses so I decided to go with some that were safety rated in hopes to not break another pair. So far these have held up to my daily abuse and are still going strong. They have a nice dark tinted finish and do a great job at blocking out the sun. I can't vouch for the safety rating as I don't use them for construction but they seem very durable. They are also quite lightweight which is nice if you are wearing them most of the day. They sit very close to your face for a nice fit. I would recommend these to anyone who wants a nice pair of durable sunglasses.Pros: Lightweight, very durable, sit flush on face, they have a nice dark smoky tint to themCons: Since they are cheap you will probably end up losing them before you break them (at least I will)They also make a version that comes in a mirrored blue finish that I also own. You can't go wrong with either pair! 5These are the cheap sunglasses that I have been looking for for years. Awesome. These are the cheap sunglasses that I have been looking for for years. I was just looking in the wrong place, sports equipment. I wear these to run in and they are perfect. They are extremely light and fit very well. That is unusual because a lot of cheap sunglasses do not fit me well at all. I have worn these on several 3-4 mile runs and they do not slip at all nor do they let light in from the sides. I can't speak too much to their durability, but as safety glasses I imagine they are somewhat more durable than the ones you get at the gas station. I have accidentally broken many of those without even trying. They won't hold up to a pair of Oakley's or Ray Bans but you can buy 20 pairs of these for the cost of one of the cheapest pairs of those. I am extremely satisfied and will probably buy more just to have around in different cars and places. 5best bang for the buck anywhere One of the kids in Bowen's school showed up with these cool wrap-around safety glasses that appeared to fit him really well, so I asked his mom where she got them, hoping that they wouldn't be too expensive. The response, "his grandfather got them from Home Depot. They're 3M safety glasses!"I never visit a physical store if I can help it. It turns out that Amazon sells them in a 4-pack for $10.36, and you can get them in gray or in clear. The sidepieces are flexible enough to wrap around even a little kid's head, and the nose pieces are soft enough that neither Bowen nor Boen have complained about them. You've probably seen lots of pictures of Bowen wearing them on this blog, so you can decide for yourself whether they're fashionable enough for your kid. All I care about is that Bowen likes them enough that when he lost his dark glasses in Italy, he'd rather wear the clear ones than the dark glasses we bought as replacements at the first store we found that had them, and it's more important that my kids wear eye protection than that they look fashionable. At these prices, you won't cry if the kids loses them, sits on them, or abuse them in any way. They're sturdy enough to survive a bike tour and then some. Eye protection is essential even if you're not cycling: UV exposure can cause cataracts.I hope my sons never need prescription glasses. As long as they don't, these are the best bang for the buck UV/rain/wind/dust protection anywhere. Recommended. 5DAMAGED BEFORE OPENING THEM UP..!!!! BAD PACKAGING FROM 3M...!!!! BAD PACKAGING....!!!I EXPECTED BETTER FROM 3M..!The glasses are placed into a cellophane plastic sleeve, kind of like a mass produced snack like nutter butters or twinkies... I mention this because its the SOLE REASON for my bad review...The end of the BOWS (the side parts that go over your ears) are SCRATCHING the INSIDE of the lenses during shipping!Who wants to open a new pair of sun glasses OR safety glasses to find out they are already damaged..!!!ALL 6 PAIR .... TOTAL GARBAGE , and Amazon left me hangin... because I didnt report it right away, Well Im sorry for "stocking up" on my safety gear well in advance, so its there when I need it.IF YOU ORDER THEM, take a good look BEFORE you put them in the cabinet. I mean seriously...., who is going to OPEN and inspect all 6 pairs of glasses when they get them? I can tell you who NOW, .... ME! 2Cheap sunglasses I wear these as cheap, disposable sunglasses. I got this idea from a Reddit post. When a pair gets lost, broken, or too scratched up I simply grab another one. They look like wraparound sunglasses and nobody bats an eye. Probably the only hint that they are safety glasses is the discreet "3M" label on the side. No way am I paying $100+ for sunglasses when I can get the same or better protection from this product for a few bucks. These definitely aren't a fashion item, but they don't look bad by any means and you get to keep more money in your pocket rather than giving it to Luxxottica. 4Good Deal (Safe & Cheap) I bought for my 15 yr old daughter to mow the yard! (Yes! I m happy I have free labor -well, kind of! Lol. I guess I better keep her protected.)They are lightweight & cheap. They do have ANSI rating for impact, but no indication if UV protection. This is for occasional yard work. I did not know how long they would last if used by professional. But at such a low price,I RECOMMEND!Hope this helps. 5Cheap, durable, UV protection These are sporty-looking enough that I don't mind wearing them in company, and they're cheap enough that I keep a separate pair everywhere I might use them--car, work, home. And because they're so cheap, I don't mind if I lose a pair! Haven't sat on them yet to test their durability, but my original pair has lasted at least 6 months with almost no scratches.Confers UV protection by way of polycarbonate! 5Light and comfortable, but UV protection? Don't know if it has UV protection, but they're light and comfortable, and easy to clean. Not bad for the price.7-2-13 Update:After receiving multiple requests if these glasses have UV protection, I inquired with 3M directly. It does have UV protection. Here is their comment: Thank you for contacting 3M, regarding safety eyewear. 3M safety eyewear with polycarbonate lenses absorb 99.9% UVA and UVB up to 380 nm.Dawn T.Personal Safety Division Technical ServiceHope this is helpful. 5Great sunglasses for kitesurfing!! There are too many pairs of expensive sunglasses at the bottom of the sea. At the advice of a good Australian on a kitesurfing site, I bought a pack of these - $10 isn't much of a risk. I put a couple of holes in the temples, and a couple of floaters on a light line. These are the best kitesurfing sunglasses I have ever had! No joke! My brother is a lot better than I am (jumps high, tricks, etc.) and also endorses them. They are as dark as expensive ones, fit great, and I haven't lost a pair in a week in the Caribbean kiting. Great stuff!! 5
