Customer Reviews

It's memory and it works. Only issue I have ... It's memory and it works. Only issue I have is I wish they posted timings so that they can be matched to the computer's existing memory and so you get the same timing on each DIMM. Two of the three sticks had the same timing (and the same as what was in the computer) - the third stick had different timing so the computer will downgrade to the slowest timing. If we could order specific timings, I'd give it 5 stars. 4why i didn't do this sooner its hard to believe the performance boost I have a mac pro 2011 early year i5 w/with 4gigs of memory running Lightroom 5 and when i on the internet , running Lightroom and gmail pro i was using all my memory. Now after installing my new memory which is very easy and on on youtube if you need it.Now i rarely go below 9gigs of memory and now every thing i start is so mush faster. If your mac is running slow this is the ticket for you.I just started using Lightroom when I'm out on the go and the memory is a great investment. If you keep a lot of memory hogs open its not a problem, and i have had no issues w/the memory,it might run a little hotter I'm not sure since i use a cool master with my laptop and can work for hours. If you are thinking of getting 8gigs and running what i am you would have 1gig left, why not go with 16gigs and have 9gigs in reserve.I would recommend this to anybody w/a mac pro early or latter pro it really helps. 5simple to install, and WOW My 5 year old computer had been running very slow lately, especially with several browser tabs open. I looked on the task monitor performance tab, and noticed that I was using as much as 90% of memory. My computer came with 2GB of memoer and it said it could take 4GB. Bought the addl memory, opened up the case and popped these in (being careful to follow directions about avoiding static electricity), and noticed a huge difference in performance)... for just $22.Documentation with the computer said max of 4GB, but probably only because there are 4 slots, and 1GB was as much as you could get on a card back then. But now there are 2GB cards, so if the memory requirements get tougher in the future, I can switch the 1 GB cards out for 2 GB. 5Moving RAM Cards/Sticks to each RAM slot one at a time .... Had a little trouble w/Windows 7 O/S seeing ALL 4-gig's of RAM; Therefore, I had to move each RAM stick from each slot to another on of the other 4-slots till Windows actually "sniffed" out ALL 4-sticks of RAM or each 1-gig. X 4 by moving the RAM sticks from front to back and back to front -- NOW Windows 7 does see ALL 4-gigs in each RAM slot ..... 4OK For Dell 531 Very fast shipping from the vendor, the product fits my Dell 531, no problems. When you add new memory, make sure you shut down completely, ground yourself to the PC by touching to discharge any static then don't move your feet or you'll build up another charge and could damage the memory. Static is not a PC's friend.Make sure to firmly seat the memory cards or the computer won't recognize them. That's what happened to me. First try I got just flashing squares on the screen. Second try it just kept beeping at me. Third was the charm, PC powered up and showed the new memory. New life for an old PC.The Dell 531 had 1 gb of memory, made in Korea. Of the two I ordered, I got another made in Korea just like the original, the other was Samsung. Both fit and work perfectly, no problems. 5Ordered 1 sticks, one worked 1 didn't I ordered 2 sticks of this RAM to upgrade my Dell Inspiron 530 (which has four slots for RAM, already had 2 GB ram installed 1 GB per slot). Product arrived quickly. I opened the package, and got 2 sticks of RAM. I immediately noticed that the two sticks of memory were different sizes, one was a little more than an inch wide, the same size as the two sticks already installed on my computer, the second stick was almost half the width. After installing both memory sticks, I started my computer to get a blue screen error "Page Fault in NonPaged Area" and my Windows would not start. I then took out both memory sticks, and installed one at a time, and I localized the problem of one of the sticks, which was the narrower shaped sticks. The other stick had worked perfectly, and switching the locations of the stick produced the same result, with the narrower stick causing the blue screen error above. This non working stick is not dell memory but rather Komputer Bay branded memory.I am happy with the one stick that works as now I have 3GB instead of 2GB ram and my computer is running noticeably faster. I was hoping to exchange the 1 nonworking stick and keep the working one, since amazon did not give an exchange option for this item I will just return the non-working one. 3Great product & pricing, works on 530s! I purchased four of these 1GB to give try on Inspiron 530s. Installed all on each of 4 slot, computer failed to start. I think probably it's not compatible with my hard drive, so I tried to remove 2 from 2nd & 4th slots and followed repair instruction for several minutes. Finally it fixed itself, I felt initial start up speed and web surfing are much faster now. With 2 other memory, I returned and received full refund promptly next day. So far it's working great! I wish all 4GB all works, but with just two it's good enough. 5Good for the old computer. This is some RAM for my Dad's very old Dell Inspiron desktop. This helped speed his computer up considerably since he only had 1GB of ram I believe. At the price, with free same day shipping, it was a great deal. 5Compatible with all DDR2 motherboards! Some people may get confused thinking this memory is only for a Dell computer but any motherboard that uses DDR2 memory can use this memory.I received this memory very quickly and I'm very happy with it. I had a Corsair memory stick die on me but Corsair refused to RMA it since I had lost the receipt, I mean come on it was over five years ago! I don't have the money at the moment to buy a new computer or get some new high end memory sticks for my aging PC. This memory was recognized instantly and things are a bit faster again. 5Did not work in my plain old Dell 530. I have a plain old Dell 530 in original state. I purchased 2 banks. When I install either or both these my machine will not boot up period. When I remove them its fine. I suspect they are not really compatible with the 2 original GIGS installed. I am suprised since until me, everyone rates these 3 or higher. If you GOOGLE and read the DELL blogs, there is alot of conflicting information about what can and cannot be done based on 530 sub-model, mother board model etc etc. I have no time or patience to figure it out so I have finally decided to replaced my old DELL instead. 1
