Customer Reviews

Great slim fan to use with PB120 Rosewill CPU Liquid Cooler I got this fan to be able to fit my P20 CPU Water cooler, it worked great. The install was a little tricky since I had to use pliers to get the screws aligned with the radiator and a slim screwdriver. But the noise lever is super low. You can increase the speed to 100% and still won't be able to hear it.Overall I am super happy with this purchase and the pairing with the PB120 Rosewill CPU Liquid Cooler 5Unexpectedly Awesome Excellent!Bought this fan to replace the crap fan that came on my low budget case, and the difference is night and day. I bought this thinking it would be marginally better than my cheapo pre-installed case fan but I was wrong. The LED's are, first off, much brighter. Secondly, the fan spins much faster and is completely stable (no vibration or alignment defects). Thirdly, it's quiet and effective! I looked on open hardware monitor and my temperatures at idle went down 10 to 15 degrees! I can't tell if that's because my old fan was just garb, or if this fan is really good. Maybe it's a mix of both.I just can't see how fans that cost more perform better than this one. Maybe those more expensive fans have some fancy power controls or bring in slightly more cubic centimeters of air per second. But for the price of this fan, the bang for the buck is excellent. I was able to just use my old fan as a support fan on the side of the case, and this fan is being used as the main intake.Very impressed, would buy many more if I only had more fan headers / a better fan splitter cable. If you're thinking about buying maybe 4 or 5 of these to fill all of your fan slots, hesitate no more! 5They are great only con is the cord is only about 6 in These fans are the best I have ever used, note that the list is fairly short. I purchased three of these fans two in the front and one on the side window that I plan on making (case is an antec p180 advanced midtower).By comparison to the cooler master and various generic brands, These are extremely quite for the amount of air they move.I'm getting a ton of airflow from the front where I installed the first two in (displayed in the pictures).CONS, I can not think of anything other than the cable for the fan was a little too short for my needs (about 6 inches long)now for the blue LED's, they are amazing for only having four LED's in them.Over all I love these and I will be purchasing more for the fact that they are quiet, move a lot of air, they look really cool, and they are extremely cheap by comparison to other similar fans.I highly recommend purchasing these fans, ( I have not been paid for my review and I am honestly just putting my opinion out there) 5Oh yeah, these things rock. In the world of computer fans, some are quiet, some blow like a tornado, some break the bank, and some are good for radiators. This one falls into the "good for radiators without breaking the bank, while being quiet and blowing like a tornado" category. My 240mm and 120mm radiators all have one of these attached and they handle the heat superbly. We're talking about R9 290x watercooling, and an FX-9590 that's OC'd to 5.1ghz. The only time they go to full speed is when I load an aggressive fan profile for rendering footage, and they're STILL not as loud as other fans. But the room gets hot. Really... hot... 5Great fans, move a lot of air, but not the smoothest installation I purchased three of these to setup in my new PC and plan to buy a fourth. These move a lot of air and make a little noise, but not quite as much as my stock fan. The light is not quite as bright as some fans I've used in the past, but they give a nice blue effect. It matches my setup, so I'm very pleased. I have two of these as exhaust and one as intake and so far they've worked just as I hoped. Reduced my PC temp by 15 degrees. For the price, they're worth it if you're just needing some fans to move air around and not too worried about bright lights and a little noise. I would have given these fans a 5, but the one real drawback about these fans is the difficulty of installation. It took nearly 45 minutes for me to finally get all three fans installed. Sometimes the screws went in without a problem and other times I was fighting to get them in place. I've had a far easier time installing other fans. 4Quiet as a kitten, Powerful as a Panther Huge amount of airflow for a low RPM making for whisper silent fans and a long life. These 140 mm mammoths make less noise than the 120 mm NZXT case fan that came with my Manta. Not that I want to product bash, but they have a lower decibel rating than silent wings 30$ fans which were built for specifically for noise-haters. I honestly didn't even care about noise - I just wanted the most airflow coupled with a low RPM for the sake of fan life.Anyone saying they've got a jet engine in their case has a different fan or is a belligerent mud-slinger from a competitor. These beasts are silent as cat blinks. 5the noise generate from these fans are worse. Fans are quiet at 900 rpm but once ... Fan blow tons of air. At the same RPM, this will blow more air than the Noctua at the same RPM. I have both fans and tested each (even the specs says so 89 CFM @1300 vs 82 @ 1500 rpm). However, the noise generate from these fans are worse. Fans are quiet at 900 rpm but once you go 1000 rpm or above the fan are pretty audible. At 1300 rpm , it is as loud as the noctua @ 1500 (possibly slightly louder than noctuas). The noise from these fans are also not as soothing - a whirling sound to it.Fan does come with rubber grommet mounts but there is no anti vibration pads on the frame of the fan itself. Does not come with many accessories but it is significantly cheaper than Noctuas. Performance per dollar , this is better. Noise wise, noctuas are better. 4Rosewill makes awesome products! I purchased this to replace my rear exhaust fan on my Antec 900. I have always been extremely impressed with Rosewill products, and this one definitely did not let me down.Pros:-This fan blows better and harder than my Antec branded 200mm that sits on the top of the case! When I first fired it up, I thought it would suck my hand through because it was pulling so hard.-The Blue lights shine brighter than any other fan I have in my Blue themed case!-The noise coming off this fan is minimal, which is great!-The price on this fan cannot be beat!-Power cord has a nice insulated cover that extends the entire length of the cord up to the actual plug.-Came with set of screws and adapter to go from 3 Pin to Molex Power.-Fast ShippingCons:N. O. N. E., 5Good, a little loud, no clearance mounted in pull I used these in as a pull on a radiator because, well, there was room for it and not regular 25mm fans. They seem to do pretty well, considering they're not high static pressure fans, and they're on a slim 28mm rad, but I wanted all the airflow I could get. They're a little loud, but I expected them to be because they're 15mm. One thing that's strange, is I had to use a few washers on them because the blades were hitting the radiator mounted in a pull. They would rattle against the fins unless I added a washer inbetween the radiator and the fan. This will be a pain in the ass when I have to take the fans off, and I'm guaranteed to lose a few washers. I don't know if they just weren't meant to be mounted in a pull configuration, but this was easily the biggest negative. I'm not too happy I need washers to make it work properly. If you need 15mm fans, your options are pretty limited, but these are ok for the price. Just don't plan on mounting them in a pull. 4Good fan. Excellent value! I use his fan mainly mounted to my radiator. As some of the reviewers stated, the fans are pretty audible ( I won't say noisy). If you are someone who owned other 140mm fans especially the ones with high Static Pressure, you might be disappointed with the amount of noise this fan produces. I am telling you: please don't be because everything is relative. Fans with high static pressure will always be noisier than regular case fans. As the static pressure increases with higher RPM, the fan will typically get noisier. It's true the Rosewill Hyperborea pushes more air and has higher air flow @ the same RPM when compared to a fan like the Noctua NF-A14 iPPC 3000 or 2000. But it's noisier as well. Overclockers.com has done a nice roundup testing comparing a bunch of 140mm radiator fans (I attached a picture of the testing results). You can tell that the NF-A14 @ 1500 RPM exhibits the same performance as the Hyperborea @ 1300 RPM with almost the same amount of noise. If you are using this fan as a Radiator fan and you appreciate a silent PC, you have to know that you will have to run it @ 1000 RPM at most (900 RPM is preferable). That doesn't mean you are compromising the performance of your system because @ 1000 RPM those fans will cool as good as other fans @ 1300 or 1500 RPM. Given it's hard to find a good 140mm radiator fan ( unlike 120mm fans ), I will have to say those ones are considered among the good ones: 0. Excellent value, almost 1/2 the price of any other high end quality radiator fan (Noctua or Noiseblocker .....) 0. Long sleeved cable 0. PWM 0. Good relative performance with high static pressureNote: Those fans are identical to the Akasa Apache 140mm fans. It's basically the same fan under a different brand name. 4
