    Replaced my Old Westec The unit I was replacing was a Westec 1200/Vista 10-se that was over 15 years old so I was a little worried.It mounted using the same holes that were from the old system and the hardest part was cutting the wires from the old connector so they could be screwed into the 4 wire screw mounts on the new one. Once those were in, it powered up, I pressed and held the 1 and 3 key for 3 seconds and I was done. All the location programming was still there so I didn't need to program anything.Great replacement product. 5Great upgrade from older numeric keypads One of my old keypads display backlight was failing and that gave me motivation to switch both out.The keys and displays are perfectly sized to be read and used without glasses and the alpha display shows so much more information. I programmed names to the zones etc. (I know - programming a Vista System required an IT degree but that's not the point of the review) and this make it much easier for everyone in my household.The newer buzzer sound very pleasant compared to the old style 'beep' and the programmable one touch keys are great!Excellent device! 5Just what I wanted Bought this to perform a DIY overhaul of my 20 year old hardwired alarm system. The alpha screen provides so much more information. The programming is a little complex for a first time DIY, but if you are patient and can consult someone for a little tech support it works out fine -- assuming you have the skills and understanding of the system. Overhaul included a new matching Honeywell panel. 5Easy, quick replacement of old 6128 keypad. Replaced my worn-out 6128 keypad. Easy, understandable directions. Quick DIY project.Be aware 1. larger 6160 requires more wall area but its mounting screws have same spacing as old 6128. 2. draws more power than 6128. This will be a concern when drawing down the backup battery during a power failure. 5This seemed it would had been a great keypad This seemed it would had been a great keypad but my old ancient ademco alarm system with the 6128 keypad seems to have a totally different connector with theses dolphin connectors to a harness plug and does not use the terminal screws connectors like the 6160 does sadly. So I probably have to return this and try to find a old keypad from ebay 4Great value, works great with Vista 20p I bought this with a Vista 20p control panel. It doesn't come with any instructions, so you'll have to rely entirely on the control panel manual. That being said, it was easy to use. Has a reasonably loud beep, door chime, and is well lit. It's not as full featured as more expensive units, but it does the job really well if you are on a budget. It offers four function buttons and stickers so you can decide their function. The alpha keypad is responsive, and the buttons are easy to press. 5Works great and was able to program my own keyfobs with ... Works great and was able to program my own keyfobs with this thing. I have to replace a keyfob about once a year. I am constantly dropping them and eventually they quit working (battery changes don't help). You can find the fobs here for about $17. Which is about $30 less than what my alarm company wants for one that they program. I also found a bunch of old keyfobs in the system that I was able to remove. 5Makes life easier. Install and addressing it was a breeze. I have 2-6150 keypads. One is an RF. I changed out the non-RF one at the garage entry door that we use all the time with the 6160. I left the 6150-RF in the master bedroom that really never gets used. But I need it for some wireless sensors. I did some programming on the 6160 and it was a lot easier to see what step your at. 6150 was a pain. The 6160 keypad is a little bigger and so is the LED screen which is nice. Seems a little brighter too. It is a lot quieter then the 6150 that was annoying loud. You can muffle the 6160 if you want by putting some folded up paper towel in front of the speaker on the inside. YouTube is very helpful about that and also programming it. I highly recommend getting this if you have the 6150 keypad. Real nice upgrade. 5It s a nice keypad I read many reviews before selecting a keypad and think I made a good choice with the Honeywell 6160. It was a perfect replacement for my old keypad that had become aggravating to use. The Honeywell is about 2 wider and the same height as the old keypad and no paint touch up needed on the wall. As other reviewers mentioned, the wiring was the same and the screw holes matched. We also like the pleasant tone it emits when a door is opened. I will recommend it. 5Replaced Ademco 6128 Purchased to replace Ademco 6128. Easy install, took less than 5 mins. This is larger than the 6128 but the screw holes are in the same location for both units. The volume on this unit is lower than the 6128 but it works just the same. 4
