Customer Reviews

Works GoodIt's a simple looking combo that I decided would be the better route for myself as this was going to be my first custom loop. It looks clean and I am grateful for the mod kit on the top. The shroud over the pump looks clean. I can't comment on sound other than I never hear the thing run and I have it sitting right around 50%. When you crank it to 100% it makes a lil noise but it's not bad (I game with openbacks and that doesn't interfere at all). It looks good and I like the larger reservoir*I like it's size but Thermaltake could have done a few things different I feel:1. I couldn't make the side mounts work with their p90 case (short of maybe drilling holes in it which I didn't want to do to a brand new case).2. Adjustable speeds for the pump is great but the only way to access this is with a small screwdriver and to get under the pump with a flashlight to spot the lil bugger. Otherwise it works good, just not easily accessible nore to change speeds.3. Lastly I had some issues getting a good seal with at the fitting at the exit? port (the port coming from the pump). While it didn't help the EK extension I was using didn't have many threads but I couldn't get the compression fitting in there due to the fitting coming into contact with the plastic pump cover. So the threads probably only had 3 full rotations to go in which left me with a tiny tiny leak (like a drop every 8-10 minutes) but a leak nonetheless. I didn't want to torque the fitting on anymore since I was afraid of stripping the PLASTIC threads...but eventually with the help of some silicone spray it has sealed things up and a month later not 1 drop leaked.Overall it's a great combo for a beginner such as myself but now that I've dabbled with it I think my next loop will consist of separate pump and reservoir.***Update 5/17/2019***Figured I'd add another picture after I decided to reconfigure my loop. While cleaning everything I ended up breaking the insert for the top feed port that goes inside of my reservoir. I did find a replacement piece (Barrow G1/4" External Flow Guide Adapter) that does the job but isn't as long and also technically mounts externally on the cap. I'm sure if I had reached out to TT support they probably could have helped as well.4It's Quiet and Awesome, just make sure you connect to the straw end...I have tried many pumps and this one... This one is the best. But I strongly recommend connecting your in-line 1/4 bracket to the end with the straw, otherwise you're going to end up with a killer air bubble and the thing is goign to make some serious noise. All in all I'd say it worked out very nicely on my build and it is whisper quiet now that I've connected it correctly.5Ok hardware. Terrible software. Beware.UPDATE Like other reviewers have noted THE RGB wires are super cheap and eventually broke. It's not a difficult fix but another annoying quality indicator. The other problem that revealed itself over time was the speed dial being located in an impossible to reach spot. With no PWM control this is major. I ended up replacing with a more expensive pump/res combo from EKWB and the difference is huge. Overall an OK value pump res. If you can afford it buy a better model.Overall a decent pump/res with nice features but has some flaws that can be a pain depending on your build. First off TT RGB software is among the worst RGB software. Secondly there are only 2 in/out spots so you are limited by that. The last con is that the mounting is extremely limited. It does not include fan mounts like most others do so make sure one of the two included mounts fit in your case. My unit also had a stripped thread which caused a leak on the out fitting so I had to fix with plumbers tape. Overall a relatively decent pump that hopefully someday has better software.2It works but weak frustrating to configure in casePRO:It works - pumps water and on lower settings is quite enough. Low(ish) cost.CON:No alternative fan bracket for base mounts make it a real pain mount in the R6 case and base mount not compatible with other vendors (and three tries to find compatible failed - seems each pump vendor has different spacing for mounts) and the included side mounts are not robust enough to handle the weight of the unit once full. I ended up having to remove one of my bottom fans so the pump could rest on the case floor and only use side mounts to steady it.The output port is partially recessed within the big ring at the bottom making tightening or losing fittings a major hassle (and yes my only initial leak - had to use plumbers tape on threads to ensure tight enough). The pump speed control is mounted on the BOTTOM of the pump - a tiny recessed plastic potentiometer - which with the base mount etc. will be near impossible to change settings once installed. Would have liked to have the control accessible (so could do an initial purge on high speed and then turn it down for normal operations).3Don't buy!!After owning it for 2 yearsLEDs do not work with the rgb controller as intended, its white only and took some configuring to turn it on at all. From what I found online it's a common issue. After about a year and a half of working, it began to leak at the seems (between metal and glass), I fixed it myself using silicone which only worked for about 6 months before it began leaking on the other sideIt's heavy and gets extremely hot (even before being connected to components!) (Maybe led is under voltage? Not sure how it gets so hot)For it's premium cost and lack of performance, just avoid this product. The review stars are bloated from TT other products!! So pay attention to the photo of the product while reading reviews as there are multiple products lumped together1Thermaltake Thermaltake Pacific DIY LCS W4 PlusI originally bought the non plus version of this block had to return due to 1 of 4 thread is stripped. got the replacement thank you amazon. installed it and a few day later led went out. returned again, thank you again amazon. this time got a refund and paid and extra 25 for the plus version maybe its built better. Everything seems to be okay so far. The plus version is significantly brighter then the non plus version. Thermalake software needs work. You will have to restart the software every time you PC wakes up from sleep. But it is nice when working lots of options to play with the RGB. I purchased this block instead of the normal go to block ek or heat killer brand, for its design. that round design really looks nice on my rig instead of the generic square or rectangular shape. it sucks thermalake choose to use there proprietary connection and software. Hopefully other brands will start to offer round blocks in the future that will work with the onboard rgb connections. This block itself is a 4 star but 2 star on thermalakes quality control.2Needs a better location for the speed adjustment knob.Good pump, It's a Laing D5, so you know what you're getting. My only gripe is if you're using hardlines, you can't really adjust the speed of the pump after you've installed and filled the loop without drilling a hole in the bottom of my Thermaltake Tower 900 case. I would need to drain the whole system and take the tubes off just to adjust the speed of the pump. With that being said, I set mine on spped 3 per other comments and everything's running fine. My GPU on one loop with a 480mmx45mm rad is only hitting 40C, and my 5.15GHz 8700K and VRM blocks are only hitting around 60C on an identical radiator in a separate loop.4RGB wires are cheaply made.I recommend against buying the rgb model because it's just so cheaply made. I'm gonna have to strip the wires and re do it myself. Sad that I have to do this but I'm not wasting my time and sending this one back for another cheaply wired product. Ill just do it myself. Unless you wanna play the lottery, just buy yourself the non rgb model.1works for 3 months after replacing it twice in the first placeThis is a common gripe I hear of ThermalTake: Their products look good but leave much to desire in all other departments. I have to say it looked magnificent in my built, especially sync'd with all of my thermaltake fans. But it took 2 replacements to get one that didn't leak. Finally i get one that works and it only works for three months that's all. My pump just started leaking i turn it off to check where the leak is and it is in the same place that the others had it. In the pump. this time it leaked into the motor and blew up so now i'm scrambling to find a pump replacement and it doesn't seem that they offer that so I have to buy a completely new piece of garbage pump or retube my entire rig to fit something like an ekwb pump and reservoir. I should mention that i totally bought into the thermaltake economy and i can say, only the case is to my satisfaction1LED's stopped working after 5 months of use, refusal to honor warranty ):Bought this product about 6 months ago, everything was fine up until about a month ago. The LED's stopped working while my PC was running. Nothing has gotten them to work again, and it looks like the product is defective. ThermalTake will not reply to my warranty ticket, this is very saddening because my build is now incomplete and I won't have the money to buy a new block for some time. I saved for many years to build this PC and now this has happened ):1
