    DVD Copying Without SufferingIt is probably possible to copy a CD/DVD using a computer, but every computer I have had has made the process pretty obscure, and really easy to forget between copying sessions. . When I wanted to copy a memory disk of old family pictures, nothing seemed to work, so I bought a Copystars. I don't use it very often, but when I do it works beautifully: Original in one slot, blank in the other, push the button, and everything takes care of itself. I know my computers can probably do the same job, eventually and with lots of frustration, but it is worth the money and shelf space to have a machine that does the job without making me miserable along the way. 5Duplicator works great!The duplicator comes packaged like a tank. I got home at midnight and my girlfriend told me I had yet another amazon present waiting for me. LOL I'm a amazon junkie I know.What I received was esseintially a box in a box in a box. It was packaged like a tank. Once unpacked the device was in pristine condition. It arrived in a very snug Styrofoam seating that ensured it's safe arrival.Package Contents:1 x Duplicator Unit1 x Power Cord1 x Quick Sheet Instructional Guide1 x Copy Stars technical manual.Setup:Place duplicator where you see fit. Set AC switch to match your regions power supply. Plug in unit and turn it on. Simple as that. It was preset to 115V which is what we use in the US.Use:The duplicator is simple to use. Load your master on the top, load your blanks on the bottom and pick from the menu the options you want to do. In basic mode it's literally a one button process. You can go into setup and change other options. The first one I did was enabled auto copy which basically just copies automatically once your master and blanks are loaded.Once the discs are finished they automatically eject and you are presented with a Pass: 5 Fail: 0 dialog screen explaining that everything copied successfully. Remove blanks, rinse and repeat as you see fit.Pros:Ease of useEase of setupPackaged like a tankCons:I can't think of any since it works just fine! The only con I can come up with is perhaps the inability to find information as to if there is a updated bios available for the duplicator card. It has Update Bios as an option but no where on the net can I tell if there is a newer version available.All in all, the device works beautifully and thus there is no need to update the bios but being one who likes to have the latest and greatest of everything. I would love to be able to see if there was an update available. 5Great DuplicatorNever ordered a duplicator from Copystars previously. The shipment was triple boxed with the inside box custom fitted to the unit.This product performs as well as any duplicating equipment I own. I especially like the M-Disc capability for no additional cost when compared to other brands. Had it burning DVDs 15 minutes after I unpacked it.PROS: - No learning curve, intuitive menu selections and functions, Lots of burn and verify speeds and options.CONS: None so far 5Amazing product! Super Easy to useAmazing product! Super Easy to use!!!My son took it out of the box and after a few minutes he already had burned a DVD before I could finish reading the instructions. That's how easy it was to operate. We got the DVD-R and that worked fine. Not sure about the other discs. He put the original DVD in the top tray and the Blank disc on the bottom tray and after six minutes it was done. They both popped out and you have a great second copy. If you are casually making copies, this works fine. However if you plan on making a high volume of copies, then I would recommend getting the other machines that can copy more than one time. 5Avoid Copy Stars at all Costs -- Buyer BewareCopy Stars does not back up their product. I bought two of these and one worked for a month and then stopped functioning properly. The other works half of the time. Occasional good burns and occasional bad burns is a waste of blank DVDs/CDs and should not be normal. According to Copy Stars, I am not using the copier correctly but I did the test runs over the phone and that was their resolve to a complaint asking to have it replaced. Needed this for church services, reproducing weekly sermons. Naturally, I have to go through Copy Stars rather than Amazon to have it replaced. Cheaply made and I wish I had read the negative reviews on this company before purchasing what is (and has been) gathering dust for two years because every couple months I call the company to see if I get someone who actually understood and replaced the defective products. (Spoiler alert: they will not.) Avoid buying Copy Stars. Publicly they state they back up their products, even in response to bad reviews, but they do not. Their public statement is for show. 1Great machine! Actually works!I bought one of these units a while back to make copies of old family films that I first transferred from VHS/camcorder tapes to DVD. THAT was quite a task itself, taking weeks of every available moment I had in my life. (Had to be done in real time and needed to edit out some things). Now everyone wanted the easy to use DVD's, and as it was nearing christmas... I thought this collection would make a great present for everyone to have their own copies. But NO WAY was I going to put the TIME into redoing this again for multiple parties! So, I looked into the 'duplicator' arena, knowing absolutely NOTHING about how they worked. This unheard of company was receiving a lot of good reviews so I decided to give it a try, (plus the price was much less than many others). I received the product, set it up in a few minutes, (very easy to follow instructions), and put the first DVD in to copy. I walked away expecting it to take awhile, and when I walked by a few minutes later...it was done! NO WAY! I took the copy to the DVD player, put it in, and there it was...ALL of the first DVD! COPIED! IN MINUTES! I was amazed. So I continued copying and had all my Christmas gifts done in a few days, (I had more than 50 DVDs recorded). And it was so easy... I would do them while watching TV. Pop a blank DVD in, set the DVD I wanted to copy in, push a button, and within 1-2 minutes, it was done. Couldn't be any easier than that! I marveled over the time I saved compared to the weeks for the original set. And those that received them... Loved them! (they knew how long the original set took). Now I'm making copies for other people too. This is quite an amazing piece of technology. There's one down side though... formatting a DVD is important to this machine. It has to be done in the correct format, so check that your DVD's you want copied comply. (actually says it accepts most formats, but a few older DVD's I had would not copy, they were not a part of the 'Christmas collection'). That's the reason for the one star deduction. I have not needed the company to ask questions, but reviews say they are very responsive. Finally, NO... You Can Not Copy Copyrighted materials!!! They have a chip that prevents that, so this is primarily for your home movies, though I've heard they will record CD's.... 4Great Product with Absolutely GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICEI started using the duplicator the a few days after I received it. The first disc I tried to copy was something that had been recorded a very long time ago on video tape that I transferred on a DVD. I tried to make a copy of it but the disc copier stopped at 74%. I had no idea why it stopped but I called Copystars immediately and spoke to a very knowledgeable gentleman named Raymond. I told me what probably happened and it made perfect sense to me since the original video camera was not the best but it did the job back in 1978. He also led me through the menu on the duplicator and set things up for me. Then he told about "Prescan" which took a look at the master disc to see if there was a problem, and there was. He told me how to carefully clean the disc and I tried it again and same thing which told me the disc or the recording was not the greatest. He was SO Helpful and made things so easy. I am now pre-scanning everything before I copy it which will save me a lot of discs. I just copied 6 discs and it was quick!! This is a wonderful product and anyone needing a copy duplicator this is the Rolls Royce of Duplicators. But more important this company, Copystars not only makes a terrific product, but they back it up with GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Thank you so much Raymond for taking the time to educate this senior, it is appreciated and a great way to start a new year. 5Works on CDs only, won't copy factory disksFirst thing I put a brand new DVD in the master drive and ran a prescan. Sees the entire disk as bad. Tried another and another and another. Brand new out of a sealed wrapper and it sees them all as uncopiable. so I tried some CDs and they were all fine. So I tried letting the machine just do a default copy on a couple new DVDs and they all failed as source disk errors. Instructions are a single sheet one sided quick start guide that didn't even include trouble shooting or how to prescan. I learned prescan from reviews.Also it doesn't tell you this in the description here where you need to know this, but it will not copy store bought or copy protected media. You only find this out after you receive the unit. I guess they like returns. You cannot use it to make backup copies of professional media.Useless. Returned. 1EXCELLENT CD DUPLICATORI love Amazon reviews, I never would have bought this without the reviews and praise the machines received.The price on these duplicators is incredible and it's a brilliantly easy machine to use.My duplicator was double boxed and that box was put in an outer shipping box for even more protection. My duplicator arrived fast and in perfect condition.It's an attractive black PC style tower loaded with disc drives. Open the top drive, put in the original you want to copy. Open the lower drives (as many as you need), load with blank media, close the drives and press enter, off it goes. In less than five minutes I made five perfect CD copies, I love it, what a time save.I have a recording studio and we're constantly making CD copies for band members, this duplicator is really going to speed up the process and take away the pain. I'm sure it will pay for itself quickly.I was going to buy the 3-disc model but the five was only $50 more so I went for that. You don't need to fill every drive with blank media, you can make one copy if that's all you need.An awesome machine, thanks Amazon! 5SO...YOUR WANTING TO COPY YOUR NON REPLACEABLE DVD MEMORIES FROM YOUR DVD DISKS. ..... ?Out of the shipping box...ready to copy , took me less than 5 minutes to copy,reproduced my special DVD disk that we are so precious to us....I messed around with our stand alone desk top I Mac...down loaded assorted copy programs..after reading the License agreement s..in excess of 45 binding paragraphs, 11 full pages of gobble gook hidden within..decided at the end..do you agree...I said NO..so tired of all the legal crapola that one is forced to agree ..or the APP is refused.This copier, all included,the software...no agree...statements...CopyStar has done all of this ..all ready to plug the A/C power cord into a wall socket...no extra cables..no dongles to purchase..no computer to marry with your DVD,or CD..NO PASSWORDS..NO INTERNET connections... a true.plug and use...so refreshing a all included product...The case...all steel, the two drawer disk changer...all smooth and so easy.I push on for power button...then push button to open master drawer..the disk to copy...next..the lower disk drawer...drop in a blank to be copied onto...wala..your ready to start copies...no noise,no instructions needed..but a nice booklet if so required...).I intend to include a copy of our DVD DISK.. along with a article I wrote in a major Boating magazine....to many that love boating...the DVD..A adventurous vacation in 1980..crossing all the Great Lakes...our young family back in the days of NO CELL PHONES.. just all enjoying all together. I checked prices on a commercial DVD COPY SERVICE.. a First disk charge of $50.oo..all after..$11.00 each..!!!Of course the question..will My never replaceable DVD be lost..damaged while in transit..??I write many reviews..I also READ AMAZON REVIEWS... and I m just so pleased to write this one....COPYSTAR..I d give 10 stars..but I m only allowed 5...I also discovered..our local law enforcement offices..have two disk reproduction machines..the brand....COPYSTAR.. the disk are used in court of law,.taken from camares ..security..those that steal, rob..pass bad checks..ect. So Smile..your actions to be copied, ..on COPYSTAR...a exact reproduction...of your face..and actions...all as 100% original..o yes....and no CHECK AGREE... so APPS can use your data..sell it and do as they wish....not so with COPYSTAR. If your still deciding....check quantity..always a few in Amazon stock...but not for any length of time.....10 STARS...FOR COPYSTAR..my reputation...honest..a extremely great product.... 5
